   Another superbly maintained war graves site that tells the bloody cost of one of the most famous military operations of WW2. Many of those who rest here lost their lives in the initial actions of 17th November as XXX Corps began its breakout from Neerpelt, destination Arnhem. For some, the first bridge was a bridge too far. RIP and thank you to those who perform the important work of maintaining this important cemetery. See more..

   We visited Overloon War Cemetery after visiting the museum, set in tranquil surroundings at the edge of a wood to pay our respects to the incredibly brave soldiers who gave their lives for freedom. Well tendered by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. See more..

   Came looking for an ancestor killed during the war. Visiting here is a sobering experience. The graves are immaculately well kept. Even though this is a relatively small cemetery the waste of life is all too apparent, particularly reading the young ages on some of the headstones. Soldiers as young as 19 in some cases We were also fortunate enough to have a local tour guide who showed us around the battlefield sites in the area. (Thanks Richard) See more..

   I often visit this cemeterary between Bergen op Zoom and the village Wouw. It's a place to remember what these these man and boys did for us. They gave their lives to give us life and when I pass the road of the cemetary I always say: Thank you boys, for what you did for us. It's a lovely and quiet place, but it makes you a little sad, because of all these young lives. See more..
