   A beautiful exhibition about the start of flying to flying into space. Lots of airplanes on display like a Lockheed Constellation or a Boeing 747 (outside). Many volunteers who worked at airlines can tell you lovely stories about the planes or the work they have done. It looks us around 3 hours to see the exhibition with a small break at the restaurant.     Had a great day here, we rented their bicycles as the park is quite large. First we saw the village where people are recreating how people used to live including straw houses, very gardens etc. Than we did the full circle by bicycle and saw many animals.     The Netherlands are well known for their expertise in water management and Waterloopbos is the site of a former laboratory where large scale testing of flood defences and dams was carried out, for both domestice and international clients. Although the laboratory has long since gone, the models remain and a forest has evolved among them. There is plenty of parking and a cafe (although we didn't try it) and 3 well marked, self guided walks of varying lengths. Information boards describe the models in Dutch and German, with a brief summary in English. We visited on a hot day and it was lovely and cool among the trees, a very tranquil walk. Fascinating.     Mijn vader had vorig jaar een half uurtje gevlogen bij een andere aanbieder. Het voordeel was dit jaar dat de piloot, de Haas, niet uitgebreid het vliegtuig ging bespreken maar direct met het vliegen begon. Een leuke sympathiek instructeur die goed weet door te pakken. Mijn vader heeft genoten.
    Jammer genoeg was niet geheel duidelijk hoe de organisatie om zou gaan met het verzetten van afspraken. Stel dat iemand op de dag die in de agenda staat zich niet lekker voelt. Kan de afspraak dan nog verzet worden ? Het is tenslotte een behoorlijk bedrag dat je er voor neertelt. Maar zo werd verteld: omdat het om een boeking gaat via een tussenpersoon konden zij daar ook niet erg duidelijk over zijn. Die tussenpersoon deed soms wel eens moeilijk over het verzetten van afspraken. Dit kwam mij een beetje vreemd over. Het telefonisch onderhoud verliep wat stroever dan ik had verwacht.     Met Natuurmonumenten op pad. Boot vooraf online gereserveerd (driemaster zeilschip) om 10 uur vertrokken van Batavia haven. 1 uur later op dit paradijsje: lekker wandelen, heel veel vogels, bloemen, zee, strand! Het was prachtig weer en dus extra genieten. Kleine strandjes, stilte en rust en vrijheid.
    Er zijn ook excursies te boeken ter plekke. Prima georganiseerd allemaal!

The facade board above the main entrance has a symbol of Amsterdam ( 3 crosses = St. Andrew's Crosses). It's a reminder that Urk was owned by Amsterdam long time ago ( 1660-1792).     I like walibi fright night. We went this year with four people. Only thing is that no where on the online tickets was written that you couldn’t have face paint. We got nicely make upd but we found out at the door that it wasn’t allowed. They did not provide us with any make up remover or anything except for a rag that would usually be given for washing windows. It was so rough that my eyes have been burning through out the whole day and after some wind got in and made me tear up, the water made my eyes burn so much I had to close them. Now it’s been a few days and it’s clear that the skin on my eyes has been ripped off by that rag and they burn like crazy. I suspect to have bruises around the areas in the next couple days. If it’s not allowed to wear accessive makeup that takes away attention from the actors then provide make up remover and proper things to remove makeup safely!!!! See more..

    Taco was our guide. He provided us with explicit directions to this preserve, met us at the train stop, provided a spotting scope , transportation via personal car to over 5 local habitats & could bird by sight and ear. Easily understood and spoke English. We quickly were able to see chiffchaffs ,tits, even a Bluethroat & Ouzel. Both my sister and I marveled at the abundance of species presented on this lovely clear day. I think even Taco relished his time birding. His email of sightings identified over 60 birds from grasslands, wetlands and trees from these "low land" countrysides. I personally am a beginner to birding, but was thrilled at our good luck weather, the bird activity and the challenge to my abilities. My sister marveled at the experience during our first time in the Netherlands. These 4.5 hrs. were a highlight of our 10 day stay .     Almere is a city you can find literally everything. The City Mall is an amazing place with a big variety of shops and it doesn't have Amsterdam's crowds. Most of the time you will find English speaking employees working so you feel comfortable wherever you are.
