Almere jungle isn’t just any zoo in Almere! As a care institution, animal shelter and botanical garden in one, we are unique! In Almere Jungle you can enjoy a fantastic visit to hundreds of exotic animals! A big part of our animals, a whopping ninty percent was dumped or rlinquished. In Almere Jungle the animals get a as close to natural as possible residency and all the love and care they need! As a care institution we offer daytime activities to people with mental and/or physical disabilities. Together with them we take care of the inside and outside of our jungle. As a botanical garden we have hundreds of exotic plant species. Because we trade plants with other botanical gardens our collection of plants has become large and variable, as an xample we have the worlds biggest water lily! In our Jungle Café you can get a homemade pie or lunch while you drift away in a hammock. In our Jungle Store you can find unique presents, plants and more! Almere Jungle, experience it!

Nice little zoo close to Almere
There is not that much to see or do in Almere, but this place was the perfect day trip during a rainy day as most of the zoo is indoors. Nice collection of animals and the kids (1 and 5) really loved it.

    Fun
Specifically on a dry day, this is an excellent couple of hours spent. Small animals like chickens, Alpacas, turtles, fish, bunnies. They have a nice terrace for a drink, ice-cream, cakes. Dogs are welcome on terrace but not inside the zoo. Situated in the Kemphaan, a 'city farm' area, with plenty of walking routes.
