   - Fijne grote winkel met goed personeel

   Ik werd uiterst prettig geholpen bij mijn zoektocht naar een spannend boek. Kreeg zelfs een leesbril te leen. De winkel is bijzonder goed gesorteerd. Schrijfwaren, tijdschriften en boeken.
   Toen ik vroeg waar ik de beste vis op Urk kon eten liep de verkoopster even met me mee om de beste vishandel aan te wijzen. Dit was dus een zeer prettig bezoekje aan deze winkel. See more..

   The small church is located in front of the "Urker vissersmonument". This is the oldest place of worship in Urk. The facade board above the main entrance has a symbol of Amsterdam ( 3 crosses = St. Andrew's Crosses). It's a reminder that Urk was owned by Amsterdam long time ago ( 1660-1792). The graveyard has a special story and it's called "Urk Skulls' Grave" The church was not open except on sunday. See more..

   We took 90 minutes trip (it cost 12,50 euro excl food) with the boat, seeing the wind mill park and Urk from the sea. We ordered fish and chips for lunch on the boat, it was delicious and cheap (compare to other restaurants in Urk). I believe the guide explains many interesting stories, unluckily, it was in Dutch. I hope to boat can provide something like brochure in English. See more..

   Prachtig zwembad voor jong en oud, 2 leuke glijbanen en een natte speeltuin voor kleintjes. Jammer dat zwembad tijdens 12 - 14 uur dicht is, behalve op zaterdag.

    The orca is located on the harbour area, in front of the tourist information centre. The orca is above a bassin. It is a fountain as the water come from the blowhole of the orca once a while.
