A treasure inside and out. Too much to take in. If you are very interested there are guides sometimes (not sure how this works, just saw them). The stained windows, the architecture, peace inside and just the general feel make this a must see to me, Don't miss the climb if you can get tickets in summer (hugely popular). The organ is often missed by tourist, just look and absorb. There are little (and big) treasures around every corner, take your time. This really is a stunning Gothic and Nassau inspired church. Entry is free and there are many tombs and memorials to ancestors of the Dutch royal family. Some areas of the exterior are undergoing maintenance but the inside is unaffected and quite brilliant. Found a matter of feet from Breda Grote Markt.See more..

If you want to have a wonderful experience in the woods of Bergen op Zoom, you have to visit Fortress De Roovere at the Ligneweg. Without paying you can walk to this most amazing bridge and climb the viewtower where you can see the surroundings. There is a small cafetaria, called “de Schaft”, run by two nice ladies. Schijndel's market square was badly bombed during World War Two and for decades it remained empty until locally born architect Winy Maas came up (at the 7th attempt!) with the 'Glass Farm'. It's designed to look like a traditional Dutch farmhouse - albeit quite a large one - but look closer and you'll see it's facade is entirely made from glass. Behind the facade of the farm house are shops and restaurants and even some offices. We found we could climb to the top (4 storeys) as well as get an ice cream from a great ice cream parlour in the building. It's one of the most striking things about Schijndel, a pretty small town, so though you'll probably not be hear for very long, this is definitely worth visiting, especially if you're in to architecture.See more..

Totaal onverwachts kwamen wij in de buurt van dit Kasteel. Nieuwsgierig geworden, zijn we via een schitterende laan er naar toe gelopen. Het kasteel bleek op dat moment gesloten te zijn, echter tot onze verbazing was er sinds kort een gelegenheid in het prachtige gerestaureerde souterrain. We waren met stomheid geslagen zo'n fijne sfeer hier hing. Hebben hier genoten van een heerlijk glaasje wijn en voor mij een Trappistenbier. Men kan er ook eten, zowel binnen als buiten op het terras. Ook is er voor jonge kinderen een apart speelgedeelte.See more..
Gerestaureerde en herbouwde stadshaven naar Middeleeuws model aan de Bergsche Maas. Sfeervol plaatje met molen, visbanken en ophaalbrug. In februari zagen wij hier geen boten liggen. Horeca op het binnenplein achter de visbanken, zonder direct havenzicht.See more..

De grootste grafheuvel van Nederland; liefst 53 meter doorsnee en metershoog, gebouwd van heideplaggen. Hier lag een belangrijk man begraven. Een bezoekje waard? Alleen als je er toevallig langskomt zou ik even stoppen; niet omdat het zo mooi is, maar omdat het historisch een belangrijke plek is. Op een kale plek, vlak langs de snelweg ligt hier helemaal verloren een belangijk stuk geschiedenis. Mag best opgeknapt worden en uitgebreid met wat belangrijke historische feiten over de geschiedenis van dit gebied, waar belangrijke vonsten uit de ijzertijd zijn gedaan.See more..
