4.0Philips Museum(1.033 reviews) - A great museum Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
The Philips Museum is located in the center of Eindhoven, where Gerard Philips produced his first light bulbs in 1891. Here you will be taken into the story of the company. You see how Philips is constantly reinventing itself and how it plays an important role in social change with innovative technology. First with electric light, later with radio, television and the arrival of the digital age. And right now Philips is at the forefront of major changes in healthcare. Always with the aim: to improve people's lives.See more..
4.5DAF Museum(741 reviews) - Brilliant transport museum. Ideal for a rainy day Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality Museums
For all transport buffs and people who enjoy going back in time to the old days of classic vehicles, this museum is ideal. Also children will like it too as they can climb in some of the vehicles and there is a childrens area. Well worth the money in my opinion.Only sorry the bar was shut on the day I visited.See more..
4.5Museum De pont(326 reviews) - The place to see contemporary art Speciality Museums
De Pont is a great museum; probably the best in south eastern Netherlands. If you want to see top class contemporary art outside the big Dutch cities this is the place to go. Established in an old textile factory - which is worth a visit in itself - the level of exhibitions has remained high since it's opening in 1992. There's also a quality cafe and very pleasant 'natural' garden. Another couple of suggestions are the North Brabant museum in Den Bosch and the Bonnefanten museum in Maastricht.See more..

A must in Tilburg. Amongst them designs by Viktor&Rolf, Studio Wieki Somers, Kiki van Eijk, Raw Color, Studio Formafantasma, Christien Meindertsma, Leendert Masselink, Mara Skujeniece, Pieke Bergmans, Studio Minale Maeda, Marc Mulders, Peter Struycken, Glithero, Kitty van der Mijll Dekker and Ineke Hans.See more..
4.5Breda's Begijnhof Museum(252 reviews) - Beautiful, peaceful and very interesting history Speciality Museums
The Begijnhof is a beautiful spot for a short visit. I was there during the winter, so the gardens were dormant, but I imagine it's amazing during spring and summer. It's easy to walk past and miss the gateway, but there's a lot of local information to let you know exactly where to find it. It's quiet and peaceful, and has a very interesting history going back for centuries. There's a small museum (2 Euro entry cost) with a short video available in both English and Nederlander languages. The museum shows how the Beguins lived when the Begijnhof was still active. You don't need to enter the museum just to visit the grounds, though. The grounds are open for visiting, but be aware that women do still live in the apartments, and quiet wandering is appreciated. The chapel is not open to walk into, but you can step inside the door and look through a glass partition to see it. It's quite lovely.See more..
4.5Het Oertijdmuseum(178 reviews) - Amazing Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums • Natural History Museums
The Museum of Prehistory (Oertijdmuseum) in Boxtel is the Netherlands’ largest geology museum. Here, you will learn all about prehistoric times and can walk among life-size dinosaurs and other extinct species! The remarkable fossils on display take you back ages, while the lovely Prehistory Garden (Oertijdtuin) offers ‘living fossils’ and also plenty of amazing trees and bushes. Add to this the playground and exciting Prehistoric Forest (Oertijdwoud), and this educational museum is a fantastic day out for families with children aged between 4 and 12. As one of our young explorers put it: “We’ve had another great day here, plenty to see and do!” A modern way of experiencing the past Open from 10:00 to 17:00 Tuesdays to Sundays, this museum offers several special packages for children’s parties and also lays on up-to-the-moment themed evenings. The museum is the pride and joy of the village and this augmented reality dinosaur hunt is the perfect way to appeal to 21st-century explorers. Something else this museum has to offer is fun scavenger hunts. Country park The museum also houses the visitor centre for Het Groene Woud (The Green Forest), which is a country park in the triangle between ’s-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg and Eindhoven. Here, you can dive into history, hop on a bike for a gorgeous ride through the landscape, enjoy the authentic local produce, strike out on a hot-air balloon adventure or stay for one or more nights locally: there is so much to see and do between these cities. Museum shop and museum café The museum shop offers all kinds of fossils, gemstones, jewellery, books and cuddly toys, but also maps of walking routes and cycle paths through Het Groene Woud country park. 4.5PSV Museum(177 reviews) - Sandra was great Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Speciality Museums
Great way to spend a few hours. We travelled to Eindhoven to watch the PSV v Volendam game, unfortunately the game was moved as PSV we’re playing in the champions league the following Wednesday. We visited the stadium anyway for a look in the morning and booked the stadium tour for 1pm the same day (€14/head). Sandra was our tour guide, she was great as was her English) Really enjoyed and 100% recommend to fellow football fans.See more..
4.5preHistorisch Dorp(165 reviews) - Good experience Temporarily closed - Closed until Mar 31, 2023 Spent More than 3 hours Speciality Museums • Children's Museums • History Museums
The preHistorisch Dorp in Eindhoven is the replica of a prehistoric village, complete with dwellings and demonstrations of skills used by historic people. The open-air museum recreates life from this and later eras, including Roman and early medieval. Find out how the Romans lived, meet militant Batavians, visit farmers from the Iron Age and go on a hunt in the prehistoric times. At the preHistorisch Dorp, interpreters dressed in historical clothes bring the history of this province to life, going about everyday tasks and interacting with visitors in programs and workshops. These might include learning to make a fire as prehistoric people did, baking bread on a stick, or learning how to make a Roman fibula (garment pin). Prehistoric farming methods, hand weaving and spinning, metalwork, and other skills are demonstrated and discussed here. Although very engaging for children, this is an experience for all ages.See more..

4.0Biesbosch Museum(123 reviews) - Unexpectedly wild and untamed nature in Holland Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
As one of the last extensive freshwater tidal wetlands in Northwestern Europe, De Biesbosch National Park is a haven for nature enthusiasts. Created following the St. Elizabeth flood of 1421, this marshland serves as a source of inspiration for many a photographer, birdwatcher, holidaymaker, artist and cultural institution. The Biesbosch MuseumEiland charts the past, the present and the future of the area, and places special emphasis on how man has helped to shape and make use of the area. And all in an award-winning building... In and around the museum After a spot of fish and sea-eagle spotting, and a boat ride or stroll amongst the beavers and castles, the museum is the perfect place to stop off for a coffee. It's "a surprisingly varied location" according to one visitor. The Biesbosch experience, a scale model of the area including polders, dykes and streams, provides children with a fun an educational exploration of the region's hydrological features and importance. A 45-minute demonstration will show you how the area's water level goes from extremely low to extremely high and back. "A fantastic building, perfectly fitting for the environment" The museum was opened in 1994 and extended in 2001. The building features a green roof on which grass flourishes and provides sustainable insulation. The building has been nominated for the award of Building of the Year 2016 by the renowned ArchDaily and has received two awards at the Architizer Awards 2016, including the public prize. Discover Dutch resourcefulness Just a stone's throw from the attractive city of Dordrecht, you can discover the typical Dutch approach to water, a place where battles against the water have been fought, polders constructed and where man has tamed nature. And a place where flood protection has been achieved by depolderisation, to give areas of wetland back to mother nature. Come and experience how man and nature can work together.See more..
4.5Museum Bevrijdende Vleugels(100 reviews) - Well Worth A Visit Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality Museums
We did a 2-day Operation Market Garden tour and a trip to this museum was included in the itinerary. The museum itself is not a very large museum, but what makes it nice is the fact that it is packed with original items used not only during Market Garden, but throughout the war. I liked the various scenes that were staged with mannequins and so forth that depicted how life was during the war. Plenty of maps and placards throughout the museum showing how Operation Market Garden unfolded. One neat feature is that you get to sit in the fuselage of a C-47. Several military vehicles are located outside of the museum too. Again, this was part of a guided tour, so I didn't get to spend as much time in the museum if I were doing it on my own. I do recommend a visit to the Wings of Liberation museum (Museum Bevrijdende Vleugels).See more..

This is quite a small museum, but it tells a unique part of history. The Zouaves were Catholics who went to fight for the Papal state during the Italian unification wars. The museum displays many items kept by returning Zouaves, and of course the background and important battles are explained. I think this may be the only museum in the world treating this subject, although there used to be one in France, and you'd expect one in Rome too. If you want to spend a day exploring some history of Catholicism, Oudenbosch (also the basilica and the chapel) is the place to go. I think a sunny day is best to enjoy the Italian atmosphere of the town.See more..

4.0Draaiorgel Museum Helmond(18 reviews) - Super Organ and Accordion Museum Wednesday: Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
See more..
