Small but great collection

Modern, magic museum with everything you played with before you had a computer. With a (photo)tour and things to do. Nice for children and their (grand)parents.

A unexpected gem of a museum
This museum is housed in an old, interesting one hundred-year old school house with authentic architectural details. At the time of our visit there was a special exhibit of over 2500 antique toy cars, which drew a lot of toy car collectors. On permanent exhibit there is a fabulous installation of a motorized Meccano scene with cranes and all kinds of vehicles whirring about. There are lots of dolls of any age, race, material, size and value. I could study the doll houses for ever. The Humpty-Dumpy-Circus was fascinating. The museum houses the largest collection of Richter's Anker Stone Building sets in the Netherlands. A sight to behold. We enjoyed refreshments after our tour on the adjoining terrace and the children seemed to have a great time. Something for everybody, young or old, serious collector or casual visitor.

    Childhood Nostalgia
This museum is located at a building that was used to be a school. It has a periodical exposition and permanent collection. Totally this museum has 7 division. One room is for a periodical exposition and the other sections are theme collection. They are "the world in miniature" ( toys such as doll houses), "doll paradise" ( all kind of dolls, also from other countries), "sturdy toys" ( toys for boys such as cars from dinky toy, meccano etc.), "come and play"( all kind of model building), "the show begins" ( it's about theatre with puppet and information how they performed in the past), "the carnival museum" ( all about carnival of Kaaiendonk). Don't think that this museum only for children because it will bring your memory back to your childhood. It worths visit.
