    We had a La Trappe beer in the Hotel Mercure in Tilburg and the waitress told us it was brewed locally.....so we just had to visit. Due to social distancing measures, it's currently not possible to have a tour, but the restaurant/bar is open and we were able to sample the beers for a very reasonable price. The abbey is one of only 12 Trappist breweries and, apparently, the only one to brew its own wheat beer. I'd love to come back when it's possible to have a tour round the abbey. See more..

    We kregen een warm ontvangst bij het bierlokaal door twee vriendelijke heren. Hier kregen wij uitleg over de Nobertijnen monniken met daarbij een rondleiding door de kruidentuin en het klooster. Erg interessant. Dit was zelfs een privérondleiding met alleen ons gezelschap. Tot slot hadden we nog een lekkere bierproeverij na. We gingen uiteindelijk met een lekkere bierkaas en een proefpakket van alle soorten Bernebieren naar huis. Was een topdag!
