Completely worth checking it out!!!
Really cosy bar with a really large menu of beers (almost 15 on tap). The prices are good, and the housemade beer is fantastic! Oh, and the service is very nice too! Reccomend to all!

One of a kind
It happens to be this April 2015 that Erwin van de Velde and his business partner Daniel Meijer have run Burgemeester Jansen for ten years now. The pub has become one of the bestknown landmarks in Tilburg overlooking a piece of the Piushaven. The former pub (Harbour View) had been there for 90 years. After a make-over they re-opened the place in april 2005. The range of beers, jenevers and whiskies cannot be met by any other pub in town. At least, not by my knowledge. Erwin's passion for whisky and his love for the genuine Dutch Jenever is one of a kind. Altogether a safe haven, I would say.

Great range of beer - good atmosphere - friendly staff
After being recommend to visit by a very nice man at the hotel we were staying at and reading the latest review, we decided to visit the bar for a couple of beers. It is a little walk from the town centre, and over an hour's walk for us, in a rather nondescript area. It is a typical Dutch bar in many ways apart from the unusually high ceilings. There is a great range of beer on tap at a reasonable price. We went in the afternoon not long after they opened at 1500 and it was a bit quiet. The staff were very pleasant but you would expect this anyway in a Dutch bar. We would probably go back on our next visit, if only for the exercise walking there.
