Beautiful light house located at the far end of the texel island. You need to buy a ticket to enter. Better do it online before coming as there are some limitations of accesses per a time slot with covid regulations. From top of the light house you can see long distance. The views are amazing. The lighthouse ‘Paard van Marken’ (English: Horse of Marken) was built in 1839 by J. Valk. A primitive tower had been on the location since the early 18th century; the current lighthouse is declared a national monument in 1970. The tower 16 meters tall and has a light range of 16,7 Km. The lighthouse in Egmond aan Zee is open only on Sunday, between 11:00-13:00 o’clock. The time of visit it’s about max 30-35 min. The stairs upstairs are tight but safe. Inside some information about the history of lighthouse and upstairs you can find a person who works there. That’s quiet interesting to look through his eyes at the sea. Please,for your own safety,respect all the rules at this place. € 2 per person- good price for such a Beautiful view and nice experience. See more..
