Sightseeing Tours
From the small harbour Oudeschild on Texel, we did a trip with this company that included watching seals and visiting the socalled "Wadden" (parts of lands in the water that are temporarely above the sea level). Before we started it was bad weather with thunder, lightning and heavy rainfall. But the captain said "soon it will be much better". And indeed, shortly after we had departed, the sun started so shine. Visiting the "Wadden" was a great experience, also due to the wonderful clouds and the reflections, very impressive. At those moments you feel tiny in nature, especially when the bad weather started again but it drove away from us. On the way back, we noticed a small groups of seals, not far away from our boat, how exciting! The captain and crew were very nice and helpful, don't miss it! See more..

Genoten van een heel leuke excursie op de Neptunus. Tocht duurde 2 uur. Je vaart heel relaxed over de Waddenzee. Er wordt gevist en je kunt in bakken de diverse soorten vis bekijken. Na afloop wordt alles weer terug in zee gegooid. Wij hadden geluk dat we nog zeeehonden zagen. Opstappen in Den Oever Oostkade bij rode vlag. Onderweg is er koffie/thee of limonade . Gezellige sfeer en supervriendelijk schippersechtpaar. Echt een aanrader. Kosten € 13,50 voor volwassenen. Is het geld dubbel en dwars waard. Wel van te voren bellen dat je mee wilt , anders loop je het risico dat je niet mee kan. See more..

As part of our composite ticket from Floraholland we had a cruise on Westeinder Lake with Westeinder Rondvaart. The boat, capacity around 20, left from an obvious location in the harbour, with the captain a solidly friendly and informative character. The cruise was mostly among the tightly packed islets, each with its own economic or recreational activity. The story of how the lake evolved and is maintained was fascinating, and he was really good with questions, even our stupidest, "Is the water salt or fresh"? In answer he dipped a mug over the side and invited us to try a drink…. A very pleasant way to spend an undramatic hour. See more..
