It would be very interesting to know the history of the Viking in the Netherlands. We arrived at 11.00 am and the museum is open at 12.00 am so we didn't wait as we still want to continue our trip. There is a sculpture of viking shipwreck at the front of this centre together with a piece of ship frames on the ground. We will be back one daySee more..

At a central location, just opposite the railwaystation, this office offers good advice on what to do in Enkuizen. They also provide you with a small map (very useful to find your way around). A pity some attractive buildings like Koepoort and Westerkerk are under repair. Very friendly helpful staff.See more..
Vereniging Oud Hoorn ( Old Hoorn Association ) was founded in 1917 and makes an important contribution to the execution or promotion of restorations and the critical monitoring of new building plans. The two buildings with stepped gables were used to be the V.O.C. warehouses. It was not open when we're there so we only took some pictures and left.See more..

This Tourist Information Point is not connected to the official tourist information association (VVV) with an office in the cheese museum of Alkmaar. Both are helping tourist explore Alkmaar. TIP is a commercial organization connected to a local hotel. The shop is relatively small, but has good information to start exploring Alkmaar. There is even a public toilet on site.
