The National Park Zuid-Kennemerland is the dune area between Zandvoort and IJmuiden. Accessible from a.o. Overveen and Bloemendaal. Very rich forest and dune landscape, full of birds and also big grass eating animals such as wild cows and horses. There is a fantastic bird lake including an observation lodge. At the beach, there is bicycle parking and at least one restaurant (Parnassia). See more..

National Parks
There are trains every half hour to Overveen, just 24 minutes, the park is one kilometer from the station. Just after the entrance you reach a small lake suitable for a bath or swim, this area is mostly aimed at small children with sand, dunes, forest. Then you can follow the blue trail, 10 kilometers through the pristine nature to the sea and beach and back, on the way back it passes an island where birds nest. See more..

We went to OudeSchild many times during our week stay on Texel. Seal excursion to see them in the wild... lovely coffee and cake on the water, shopping in the village. it is a beautiful little harbour city. See more..
