    Giant Eagle Waterfall Nest image
I was here when they first unveiled the roundabout and it was a fun community event. The waterfall has a sculpture in the middle with two eagles soaring around their nest with chicks in it and a mountain lion too. Stop in one of the nearby lots and use the crosswalks to get closeup and take some photos. I love it in the winter when the ice mixes in with the water. See more..

    Minidoka National Historic Site image
We stopped by early on a Saturday morning. Visitor center wasn't open for another month. But it is a part of history and one that should be more explored and learned from. Wind was blowing pretty good and quite chilly so we didn't stay as long as I would have liked. A return trip is warranted to explore the entire site. See more..

This lovely building built in the 1880s with local sandstone and interior pine woodwork is historic and worth a visit when in the area. You can walk inside on your own or have a short, free guided tour which we recommend. Stone masons and woodworking artisans did exquisite work on this building and it is a joy to see their beautiful work so well preserved over 100 years later. See more..

    Big Springs image
I and my family have been coming here (and bringing visiting family/friends) for 30 years. It's a gorgeous 10 minute ride from Highway 20. You head east from highway 20 from just south of the Henry's Fork River. Nowadays, someone has put up fish pellets in little candy dispensers. Feed the gargantuan fish, enjoy the pristine beauty all around you! This whole area is full of wildlife, so Look around! There's a boat launch area just to the west of the fish feeding area at the start of the spring. Well, we launch rafts and inner tubes, not boats. It's a fun float. See more..

Evel Knievel Snake River Canyon Jump Site image
Very cool! Directions can be bit confusing! We drove from Kimberly road to Hankins R North towards the canyon (note Hankins road turns into Temple View Way). When you get to the end of this road you will be at a new gated community that is not currently on google maps or the satellite view. When you get to the gate turn left and then right. You will follow this road to the jump site. It is a narrow road but does have parking and a place to turn around. See more..

This place was so adorable, quaint and charming. There is so much to take in along the way. I loved the positive and serene vibe of the place. It is near the Snake River and so very peaceful. There is a Prayer Garden and a solitude trail as well. This is a great place to get in some nature and do a little soul revival. See more..
  13. 4.0 Wolf People (16 reviews)
    - Definitely worth the visit!
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Wolf People image
We heard about Wolf People from some friends of ours that live in Coeur d'Alene. We decided to head up for a tour and we are so glad we did! Nancy is great- you can see how much she invests in each wolf and how much she cares for them. We got to see their individual personalities and got to learn all about wolves, their lifestyles, etc. These wolves are beautiful and well cared for. You get up close and personal with them. We were lucky to get to see 9 week old Valkyrie, who was adorable. I wish we could have touched the wolves, but we were unable to due to a new rule put in place by Idaho Fish & Game. We did get some great pics of them, however. The gift shop was cute and we left with a beautiful stuffed wolf as a souvenir. See more..

  18. 3.5 Fort Sherman (7 reviews)
    - Some correction about this historical site....
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Military Bases & Facilities
    Fort Sherman image
Incorrect historical information information is given about this site and its namesake: General Wm Tecumseh Sherman was NEVER commander at the location reviewed, nor was he even posted there in any capacity. His visit to the area in late 1870's prompted the recommendation of the site for a U.S. fort. He visited later as well, but was never a commander. (P.S. I've lived in the area and worked on the college campus site for over 35 years and even researched some of its early maps at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.) See more..

Off the road a bit and after about 1.5 miles on unpaved road, come to museum and cave. Peacocks roam the grounds. Museum is good if you are into taxidermy. Cave goes back a good distance and you get an individual latern. No stalagmites or unique attributes, bit still cool. See more..

    Number Hill image
Every time I drive by I can't help but wonder how they got up those steep, dangerous cliffs and were able to make their numbering look so uniform. Try getting as close as you can to get a good sense of how epic this is. Plus, what a great example of a local tradition being carried on through time. This isn't just a big letter on a hill that you see in nearby communities. See more..

  24. 5.0 Meridian Idaho Temple (3 reviews)
    - Beautiful Building and Grounds!
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites • Scenic Walking Areas
    Meridian Idaho Temple image
The gates have reopened at the Meridian Temple to allow visitors to enjoy this wonderful spot. Covid-19 precautions made it necessary to lock the gates and limit guests from walking the grounds for a time; but hopefully those days are now past. There are several benches from which to ponder while experiencing the peaceful aura and visual feast. Landscaping includes many different types of trees, shrubbery, flowers, and plants plus a large reflecting pool. The site also provides picturesque views of the Boise River to the north. Even though only recommended church members can enter the building, everyone can enjoy a peaceful stroll around this beautiful House of the Lord and feel God's presence near this Holy Temple! 27. 5.0 Eagle City Park (2 reviews)
    - Real Gold Experience!
Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Mines
    Eagle City Park image
My family and I visited Eagle City Park because my wife wanted a genuine gold prospecting experience. It was truly a beautiful part of Idaho where the claim is located on Eagle Creek. The drive out there is worth the views. This experience is the real deal. After aa quick lesson on the panning equipment and use, the staff turned us loose on the claim. The staff was super friendly and helped the kids and I to a nice spot on the creek to dig up some pay dirt. My wife took to sifting and panning. Expect to be there for awhile and be prepared to get wet and dirty.. I highly recommend bringing water and food; there are limited available options at the site. The commodes are a short walk, so bring good shoes. This is genuine wilderness and there is the associated wildlife in the area (deer, elk, moose, bears, etc.), so keep an eye on your children. We didn't strike it rich, but we had a great time! See more..

  30. 3.0 Armoral Tuttle Public Library (1 review)
    - 700 square feet of books!
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
This tiny public library located in a very small town has a lot of history. The head librarian was a bit surly (or perhaps that's her demeanor with outsiders), but the assistant librarian was very pleasant. I found a good selection of DVDs, books on CD and paper backs to enjoy while visiting as welll as a large children's section. Neat and clean, they packed plenty into this teeny space. Computers available to the public. See more..

    Gooding City of Rocks image
The city of rocks Idaho is absolutely amazing. It’s a little bit of a drive from Twin Falls and Rupert Idaho but well worth the trip. Make sure you have the day to explore if you’re not camping there. Lots of old Homestead‘s to see on your way and a graveyard just outside of the national Park that’s worth taking your time to look at. Make sure to bring water and snacks. This area is great for climbers, hikers, walkers or even if you can’t leave the vehicle the views are still absolutely stunning. You can see pioneers names written on the rocks and axle grease. Let your imagination wander While looking at the beautiful rocks to see what images you can see. We saw a turtle, to Pioneer girls, an ape, and a man that looked like he was from Easter island. Definitely worth your time but try to take a full day. See more..
