Small Mountain Feel, World Class Resort
Ski Magazine rates this resort as the top in the United States and I absolutely agree. This resort in the age of overcrowded, mega resorts with mega passes, has managed to retain the feel of a small town, local ski mountain. Slopes/Terrain: Sun Valley has two ski areas: Dollar and Bald Mountain (“Baldy”). Dollar is smaller and more oriented to beginners while Baldy is the big mountain. Slopes on Baldy are generally steeper than the typical resort and Sun Valley sits at a lower elevation so it can be more finicky with snow quality. However the mountain is sufficiently large enough for multiple days with plenty of variety of terrain. Runs off of Warm Springs are my personal favorite. Staff/Facilities: Incredibly friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Best lodges in America. Large and beautiful with very good food and drink options. So good you may want to end your day a bit early to enjoy the bar!

    Great golf
we had a good yet challenging time playing the White Cloud course. The layout takes you from the valley floor to the top of the surrounding hills with spectacular views of the resort, Ketchum and My Baldy. We recommend you review the course layout prior to play as a good drive down the middle of the fairway may result in a lost ball! This is a shotmakers layout - a long drive may not be the answer on many holes. You can do what we did and play it once with a supply go old golf balls ignoring the number of lost balls. It is worth the investment you will be rewarded with some of the best views in town.
