4.5The Springs(169 reviews) - Way to Soak. Bodies of Water
Even on the last day of the water cycle, the pool was clean, the water clear and warm, and very pleasant. It’s a good thing that they book only a set number of people each hour. The dressing rooms can be a little crowded, if it’s busy. Nothing like that natural hot water!See more..
4.5Sandpoint City Beach(155 reviews) - Even Early March Visit is Beautiful! Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Beaches
Hubby & I traveled from Spokane, WA to Eureka, MT and drove through Sandpoint on our way. We noticed the sign for City Beach and drove to it to find a nice sized park along the northwestern part of Lake Pend Oreille. This time of year, the water level is very low and you can see how docks have been hoisted high out of the water! You also see the water level stains on the shore. We noticed several benches and a swing set and tennis courts. The mountains to the east are so beautiful. We lucked out and were there on a blue sky, sunny day so the water was super blue and the snow on the mountain tops in the distance was beaming! There is a long paved path to walk, run, bike, etc. There is sand on the beach! We didn't have to pay to enter and could park right there. We did not use the facilities. You can easily walk to this park from the downtown shopping and eating businesses. !See more..

4.5Goldbug Hot Springs(51 reviews) - Strenuous hike but totally worth it! Bodies of Water • Waterfalls
Drove to Goldbug from Sawtooth (~1.5h drive) before sunrise. Arrived at the trailhead at 8am, took us ~40min to hike to the top. Arrived at the hot spring before 9am and there were already many people there. Many folks camped in the park. There are only about 6 pools! I highly recommend getting there before 8am. Kids and families started to arrive around 10am. Spectacular view and the hot spring is amazing! The pools are also deep enough to soak your entire body in. FYI people do not practice social distancing there! So go early to avoid the crowds! See more..
4.5Lake Cascade State Park(43 reviews) - Lake Cascade is worth some time to see it and experience it Spent 2-3 hours State Parks • Bodies of Water
Lake Cascade is worth the time to at least slow down and drive around the lake and of course get out for some nice photos. Besides the State Park make sure you drive on the west side of the lake and in particular the campground sites near Tamarac Falls Fishing Bridge. The BEST morning photo opps are right next to that bridge within the campground area.See more..

4.5Bear Lake(26 reviews) - Gorgeous Views Bodies of Water
We went just to check it out. It is remote and far from the beaten-path, but it does remind me of Maine coast (not the views, but the hotels, eateries and assorted attractions), or maybe a small island in the Caribbean. It was cold in late May and we did not touch the water, because it looked frigid. Can't say much about staying here, but the views are pretty and the blue water is gorgeous.See more..
4.5Jefferson County Lake(20 reviews) - Beautiful little lake with nice campground Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
We enjoyed a two night stay at this little lake right in town. It was warm enough to get in the water to cool off -- lots of people had small kayaks, canoes, rafts and pedal boats along with other flotation devices. The campsites along the water are terrific - you can walk right into the water from you campsite. This is well-located -- just a short drive gets you to a very nice grocery store, the charming downtown area and plenty of other area attractions. See more..
Nothing spectacular here. Lots of long tubs with fish in them. Most interesting thing is feeding the fish.See more..

5.0Big Springs(7 reviews) - Beautiful Area Bodies of Water
As the crow flies, standing at Big Springs, you are about 10 miles from the border to Yellowstone NP. I and my family have been coming here (and bringing visiting family/friends) for 30 years. It's a gorgeous 10 minute ride from Highway 20. You head east from highway 20 from just south of the Henry's Fork River. Nowadays, someone has put up fish pellets in little candy dispensers. Feed the gargantuan fish, enjoy the pristine beauty all around you! This whole area is full of wildlife, so Look around! There's a boat launch area just to the west of the fish feeding area at the start of the spring. Well, we launch rafts and inner tubes, not boats. It's a fun float.See more..

4.0Bayhorse Lake(5 reviews) - Snow in June Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water
After visiting Bayhorse Ghost town we went up to the lake. I’m not sure I would recommend a low riding car but it isn’t a 4 wheel road, maybe!! The smaller lake was snowed in and this one had snow on the road. Beautiful small lake, though it was a bit cold. There is a campground but we didn’t look at it. See more..
4.0Dworshak State Park(4 reviews) - Nice stop wild ride State Parks • Bodies of Water

4.0Cocolalla Lake(1 review) - A Pristine Northern Idaho Lake Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
I had the opportunity to stop and see Cocolalla Lake during a recent trip to Idaho. There is not much information on this lake but it is right off U.S. Route 95 and is home to the tiny community of Cocolalla ID. The large is a good-sized body of water with many homes and trailers scattered around the edges of this pristine lake. My research told me that that is a good lake for fishing. I stooped in and took in the beauty of this lake on an overcast day, but it did not take away from viewing this very serene body of water. It is something to see if you're on your way to Sandpoint. I found a beach and many places to launch a boat. Great place for a quick stop or to hang out for a few days.See more..
5.0Box Lake(1 review) - Good destination for a hike. Bodies of Water This is a good afternoon destination for a hike. We had a pleasant walk in and a pleasant walk out.
