I really enjoyed this zoo! I was nervous about going because of some of the negative reviews here, but I found that most of those negative comments were, to me at least, not true. The animals seemed well taken care of, and the enclosures seemed appropriate (it’s a zoo, the animals are going to be in enclosures!). We went first thing in the morning, so many of the animals were lively after having just eaten breakfast - while some of them we got to witness eating their breakfasts! We even had the cutest crane (her name was Claudia) do a dance for us! There are a lot of interactive exhibits as well, with opportunities to feed a couple of the animals, a butterfly garden, a petting zoo, and a fun playground for kids. The only thing I was somewhat disappointed about was that the boat ride was not open. Other than that, I had a really great time seeing and interacting with the animals. See more..

    - A Work in Progress
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Zoos

We were told when we entered that the animals there were rescue animals. Some of the areas such as the Grizzly Bear, Elk and Coyote enclosures were very nice and gave the animals a little room to roam. Other animals such as the Black Bears and raccoons were in the old traditional small cages. This is why it is a work in progress, there is much that needs to be done. They have 25 acres and this has the possibility of being a good facility for rescue and rehabilitation of local animals but there is a lot to do. I really went between a 2 and 3 on this one but there is construction going on and I hope next year to see some improvement. The petting Zoo for children is nice to bring them to as well as the Aquatic center across the street. See more..

My wife and I heard about this petting zoo from some friends who had petted the baby otters -- and we had to visit. We loved the otter encounter, having 3 wiggly baby otters to pet and enjoy. The other animals, including the wallabies, were so much fun too. It was well worth the visit. See more..
