4.5Bonner County History Museum(20 reviews) - Excellent small town/county museum Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
Like all small museums, there is some inconsistency in presentation and curation because there is never enough person-power to research everything required to provide explanations of just how some of the tools and trappings on display fit into life in the past, but this place does way better than most. You can learn a lot here. Only a small percentage of their collection is on display at any one time, and they change the displays twice a year; an ambitious undertaking to be sure. One could spend a full day here without fully seeing all that is on display. Nearly all of it interesting, About as professional a small, rural museum as we've seen.See more..

5.0Magnolia saloon Museum(1 review) - A small town with streets of Gold Natural History Museums • History Museums
Lol, you might think but we were informed that the streets are lined with gold. Flour gold that is so it glitters when the sun hits it. We were also informed that it is so fine that you couldn't get enough of it to make a difference. But that thought is good. While at the museum we were also told that more real gold was pulled from this area than California. Wow!! Think about that . Small spot with Boise 70 miles away and several other towns close by. The Placerville cemetery is another awesome spot to see and the story of the four pines and the music men. Cliff hanger..... Lol, enjoy.See more..

We had initially thought we would spend less than an hour here, just to orient ourselves on the history of the area......stayed more than two hours and still felt like we had just skimmed over some parts..... The exhibits are well organized and the the information in each section is extensive......the curator is very helpful..... There are three historic buildings that have been moved to the museum grounds, two train cars, frontier/farming, family and native exhibits, as well as a building devoted to WW11...... We really enjoyed it and learned quite a bit......great place to take your kids and leave their electronics behind........See more..
