    Ste. Chapelle Winery image
AN IDAHO TRADITION Capturing the Unique Character of Every Vintage... Our goal at Ste. Chapelle is to capture the unique character of every vintage. Fine wine production in Idaho began in the 1860s, spurred by French and German immigrants. Indeed, the Pacific Northwest’s first wineries were in Idaho. In 1919, Prohibition shut down the state’s nationally renowned wine industry, but it was revived in the 1970s when wine grapes were again planted in southern Idaho’s Snake River Valley. The winery, founded in 1976, is open seven days a week. Experience the quality of Ste. Chapelle wines through wine tasting. For a $5 fee, our friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through a tasting of five wines. Tasting fee waived for our Friends of the Vineyard wine club members. Experience the Excitement of the Grape Crush... During fall harvest, visitors can experience the excitement of the grape crush in full swing. At other times, guides take guests through the cellars for an up-close tour of the processes of fermentation, aging and bottling. Beautiful, Elegant Facility & Award Winning Wines... Ste Chapelle Winery is a collage of fun, knowledgeable staff, award-winning wines and a beautiful, elegant facility. Our facility hosts weddings, corporate events, auctions, parties and meetings. Private Events - for additional information please complete our short "Request for More Event Information form" on our website, or contact our Hospitality Coordinator. The Ste. Chapelle Winery is the perfect getaway to host a memorable affair! Tours by appointment only, please call to make arrangements. See more..

    Koenig Distillery and Winery image
I sent an email a couple of days before my visit in order to make reservations and Tara responded right away confirming my reservation. The venue is beautiful and the views are stunning, I showed up a little early and my surprise was that Tara was there to personally greet me, and she also recognized me right away, how wonderful, that totally made my day. I got sitted only a couple minutes after, they are very accommodating, keep in mind it was a busy Sunday afternoon. My tastings were incredible, each of the wines were unique and full of personality, the explanation by the girls was helpful and shows how knowledgeable and professional they are, I ordered some charcuterie and it was tasty, paired really well with the wine. The time went by, I had a great time, even talked to some locals next time and sincerely I can't wait to go back!. I ended up getting a couple of bottles to-go, the Syrah and the Zinfandel, my favorites. See more..

    3 Horse Ranch Vineyards image
We enjoyed visiting 3 Horse Ranch restaurant! It was snowing so we were not able to enjoy the vineyards but the restaurant was exceptional! Their hours are limited, 12-6 currently and closed a few days a week. Our friends are members and they made reservations as it is not a large venue. I don't know if reservations are required for lunch but its always a good idea. We shared some really excellent prime rib and chicken sandwiches, With crispy fresh fries and an onion haystack that was out of this world. We are not wine drinkers but there seems to be a great following of this winery, for the wine. But we are following them for the food! Service was friendly and personable as well as deeply knowledgably about their wines and food. See more..

My husband and I had a great time visiting Fujishin Family Cellars in Caldwell, Idaho last month and tasting their wonderful wines. We loved so many we came home with 6 bottles. It worked out perfectly because we were invited to dinner at a friends home within a couple of nights and had one of their beautiful reds to take and share with two other couples. Complements to all the staff who were very friendly. Tasting samples were a generous pour and learning what made each wine special (some Award Winning) is what I love about visiting family owned wineries. Really great prices and atmosphere. Special thanks to Annie Morrison, Director of Hospitality Services, who showed us a wonderful time. See more..

  17. 3.5 Snyder Winery (9 reviews)
    - Just what we needed after a long drive, EXCELLENT wine and steak
Spent More than 3 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Snyder Winery image
This was our first stop after a long day of driving. We were staying on premises through Harvest Host. Although the sight for our minivan is just the gravel parking lot, the area is beautiful as is the winery and luckily the owner runs a steakhouse on the premises. We were exhausted and came in a bit late but were still made to feel very welcome. We were the only two at the restaurant but were given great service and meal by the owner, daughter and granddaughter and were not rushed. We were able to taste their EXCELLENT wine, enjoyed a roast tomato and bell pepper soup, caesar salad and 28 oz prime rib steak cooked perfectly, with a baked potato, followed by an excellent desert. About $100 per person was fair for the amount and quality of food and wine. See more..

We stayed at the RV park across the street so it was very convenient to walk over to the winery for a tasting and dinner. We had a really nice time thanks to our very gracious and friendly server Britanny. This was our first time traveling through Idaho and our first time trying ‘Fry Sauce’ which was delicious. We are typically red wine fans and didn’t find a red that worked for our pallets but the Riesling was very good. See more..
  20. 4.5 Coiled Wines (7 reviews)
    - Great Wine
Wednesday: Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Coiled Wines image
Coiled Wines - for those who follow their own winding path! Coiled Wines began in 2008 with winemaker Leslie Preston. Inspired by the stunning Snake River Valley, which elegantly winds its way through southwestern Idaho, Coiled Wines took it's name and remains a small-production wine label dedicated to crafting elegant wines from the Snake River Valley (Idaho's first grape-growing AVA). Since its beginnings, Coiled Wines has grown and developed into two labels: Coiled and Translations. Varietals such as Riesling (crafted in both an off-dry German style and a Champagne brut method), Petit Verdot, Syrah, Petite Sirah exist under the Coiled line whereas the varietals under the Translations label are as the name suggests...always changing! Leslie Preston draws her wine-making experience from the Napa Valley. With an M.S. in Enology from U.C. Davis, and professional experience from Clos du Bois, Saintsbury, and Stags' Leap Winery. However, when the time came to make wine under her own label, Preston and her family returned to her Idaho roots to source the grapes. See more..

Holesinsky’s Vineyard and Winery - The first of a growing trend in Idaho’s vineyards and wineries - was created by winemaker James Holesinsky, to honor his father Frank’s lifelong dream. Holesinsky’s Vineyard and Winery began in 2001 with the planting of 1000 chardonnay. In 2002 the vineyard grew with the addition of 3000 Syrah, 2000 Merlot and 200 Port (Sauzao, Tiuta Cao, Touragia); the growth continued in 2006 with 1000 Cabernet Sauvignon, 1000 Riesling and adding Muscat in 2007. The wines produced at Holesinsky Vineyards are by no means average, but sing songs of passion, creativity, commitment, and a celebration of life and love. In every sip of their wines you can taste the stories of the Holesinsky family. See more..

Syringa and Split Rail share a facility. Very quaint and the individuals who met our group were friendly and very informative. Syringa was my favorite. Very light and tasty. They will be packaging their wines within the next month in pouches, which will make for light packing when traveling. Split Rail was a little heavy for my personal taste, however, unique concept, they are selling wine in a can which allows for taking to places where a wine bottle will be obvious. See more..

  30. 1.0 Cold Springs Winery (1 review)
    - Bad signage
    Wineries & Vineyards
We tried to go to this winery, but couldn't! We saw the sign on the highway & thought it would be nice to try. An impulse thing as we were driving to Mtn. Home. So we turned off & saw the next sign & followed the dusty gravel road approximately 2 1/2 miles round trip in our Rv, towing a truck to arrive @ the tasting room which had a "closed" sign on it & a worker in a motorized vehicle driving away. Didn't stop or anything to say "sorry, not open". They just quickly drove away! Why couldn't you post a sign on the sign@ the end of the road saying hours or closed for the year so we wouldn't waste our time & completely cover ourselves in dust! Won't be returning to this one! And we had no internet to check their website. See more..
