Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Cascade Raft & Kayak image
We have long wanted to raft the Canyon section of the South Fork of the Payette River and finally were able to swing it in late August. We had high expectations and these were met, and then some, by Cascade Raft & Kayak Company. Our guide, Shane and accompanying kayaker Sebastian, were wonderful. Shane was experienced, friendly, knowledgeable, and humorous. We will request him to guide us again on our next trip. The trip has four Class IV and several Class III rapids, with stops at some hot springs and a nice beach for lunch. It was a great mix of occasional excitement, mellow floating and great scenery. Anne was extremely patient and helpful answering all our questions by email before booking the trip. And the prices in their store were very reasonable. We would highly recommend this trip and doing it with Cascade Raft & Kayak Co. See more..

    Kathryn Albertson Park image
As we continue to explore the Boise area (having just moved here last month), we loved this beautiful place right next to downtown. We especially liked the ponds with lilies as well as the vibrantly colored wildflowers along many of the paths. We also loved the ducks, frogs, fish, dragonflies, etc. There were plenty of trails and benches from which to ponder the many beauties of nature. Calming sounds of a fountain bring peaceful thoughts and help mask traffic noises. It's a place that I'm sure we'll visit again. See more..

  8. 4.5 Julia Davis Park (258 reviews)
    - A Very Nice Too Short Visit
    Parks • Gardens
    Julia Davis Park image
For a midweek day in October, there was plenty of parking available. Since we were just two adults (grandson napping at home), we opted to skip the zoo. I'm not a big fan of roses, as flowering plants go, but for early October I thought the Rose Garden was spectacular. We discovered a small bridge over the Boise River. There, we followed the Greenbelt for a mile or so before we turned around and headed back to the car. Unfortunately, we were on a time schedule. I know there's a lot more to explore in Julia Davis Park, and we're saving that for our next visit to Boise. See more..

The triple play family fun park was great. So many options to choose from from bowling to bumper cars to bumper boats to go carts and to a whole myriad of games. Laser tag and the rope course couldn’t be beat. Everyone really enjoyed the go carts and it was always interesting to see who would choose the fastest carts on the course. - Zipline is a must do!
    Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
    Lava Zipline image
It was a blast! The ride out in the back of the Army truck was fun but bumpy and not too comfortable. Otherwise it more than met my expectations. Milan has a great sense of humor and adds to the experience with his comments and encouragement. He relates well to all ages. The entire layout from Zip lines to other agility activities was nice and well thought out. The place is a work in progress. I will return in a few years to see what they’ve added. Trazan, King Kong and Shelly Boo ( the staff) were very helpful and added positively to the entire experience. Mountain life is cool. If only for a week at time for us tourists. And Zippy the hound dog as a greeter. Nice touch. See more..

Awol is such a professionally run company!! From the first email to sign waivers to courtesy follow up to confirm reservation, to the day of reservation call because of the inclement weather to see if we still wanted to partake in the activity. Also the call for directions when we were supposed to already be there. They we friendly, accommodating and patient with us. It was such a fun time!! Well planned out and everything was explained and prepared for us. The guides Noah and Macy were so fun and informative and took care of everything. They were laid back and funny, and happy to answer questions and talk and work with you. The zip lines were just a perfect amount of challenging with still being fun. They stopped for photo opts and even took picture for and with everyone. I would highly recommend this company and activity See more..

Great swimming area in the lake that is partitioned into a very shallow area for little kiddos and a larger, deeper area. Silver Rapids Indoor Waterpark image
We had a great time at Silver Rapids. There are plenty of activities for every age in our family. The little slides are fun and adults can squeeze in them...the BIG slides are super fun and, with supervision, even the littles can go with you on them. The surf pool was faster than expected and offered a good challenge. The staff, which were all younger adults/teens, seemed to be very attentive to their job and were constantly on the move watching out for help needed at their stations. Food was pretty expensive, but an awesome day for the whole family. See more..

    Barber Park image
We were in town doe the 4th of July and decided to float the river. It was a BLAST! We brought our own tubes and pump so we were able to skip the lines. We parked one car at the end of the river by the takeout and it was a great idea ! They do have buses to transport you and rentals. I recommend bringing a paddle. And make sure you have sunscreen. There were a lot of people on the river but it was a great time! We tied out 4 tubes together and it worked well. We followed the crowd. The water was swift as times but the rapids overall were mellow. There were a few minor dips in the river. Great activity! See more..
  30. 4.5 Harriman State Park (101 reviews)
    - Lovely hiking trails
    State Parks • Parks
    Harriman State Park image
The park fee is only $5 and it’s totally worth it. There was an office where we could stop in and ask about the trails. A pleasant young lady in the park office told us about her favorite trail, which was Silver Lake. There was a detailed map with plenty of trails. After leaving Yellowstone and arriving at this uncrowded place, we were thrilled. They have horseback riding there if you like horseback riding. The cost was reasonable. They charge $35 an hour and $20 an hour after one hour. If you choose to go there, wear pants to keep mosquitoes off of your legs. Use mosquito repellent because there is a lot of water there, hence mosquitoes. Enjoy the park! See more..

The annual hot air balloon festival held here was a dream ... lots of space for people to spread out with their blankets and enjoy the magnificent balloons fill with hot air and rise ... The park appeared clean, well kept and popular with manicured gardens and a small river running nearby that our dog enjoyed dabbling his toes in. Ample water fountains for when you've worked up a thirst, convenient restrooms, and easy walking distance to several museums (well worth a visit and a modest cost!). We stayed 3 nights in the Benewah campground. Trees and terrain created privacy, bathrooms were very clean and free hot showers!! We were in a camper van that required no hook ups and we backed into our spot easily. We had a citronella candle that kept the bugs away. We were out biking every day. Most campers had kayaks or boats and were on the lake. This is a big state park with multiple campgrounds. We drove around to access the Trail of the Coeur d’Alene via another entrance. As with many parks, there is a small dog side and one for larger or any dogs. There is a nice hilly walking path with lots of room for the "bigs" to play. The water pond is open for the swimmers (dogs). I see regulars frequently. The lawns are maintained and there are ample shade trees. On the "little" side, it's a bit quieter. Still, it is clean. There are benches and plenty of water dishes. Most pets and owners are well-behaved. See more..

  41. 4.5 Zip Line Idaho (52 reviews)
    - Amazing place to zipline!! Wonderful experience to see Idaho's beauty.
    Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
    Zip Line Idaho image
This was an amazing and affordable ziplining experience for the four of us. We had teenagers with us and it was the first time for all of us. Noah, Calvin, and Tony are the bomb. They had great personalities and ensure that safety, fun, and putting someone at ease is first rate. The 3 zip lines are long and so fun. The scenery is beautiful. Would do this again in a heartbeat. The two complaints is that the signage could be a little better once you actually get to the place. In addition, it's not a problem that it's off the beaten path. The issue is the road has a lot of rough spots and if you do not want your car tore up, you need to go about 4 MPH. Overall, the experience as amazing! See more..

The tubing hill is steep enough to be fast without being dangerous and the staff are more than willing to give you a great spin. Even small kids can have loads of fun. There are snowshoeing and fat tire bike options too, but the real gem is the horse-drawn sleigh ride! The whole family loved it. One word of caution, though: if anyone on the sleigh ride is allergic to cats, take your own blankets. One of my kids had a reaction to cat hair on the blankets. Nothing serious, and it didn't stop her loving it, but just wanted to put it out there. We had such an awesome time, even with the allergies! See more..

In the summer our family likes to go there with a picnic lunch from Subway, in town. We sit on the grassy knoll overlooking the kayakers and people rafting or tubing down the whitewater. It's not like "Raging Water's" water playground, but rather it's right in the middle of the Payette River, in Cascade. Check out their Visitor Center, too. They've built a beautiful building with an amptheater and TV monitors to also watch the action. See more..

We joined family at the park in the season of autumn. Leaves turning on the trees were beautiful. The park is very spacious. The boys loved the skateboard area. We used one of the shelters for our family gathering. The little zoo at the park is very fun for the kids. It’s a lovely park. See more..
