We camped in our trailer at Bull Trout Campground. There are no hookups here, so bring your own water and have a fully charged battery. Our campsite backed up to a lake. It was quiet and peacful and no ATVs were allowed in the campground. This is a great place for serenity in nature. I swam in the lake and walked around it through the forest. Motorized boats are prohibited. It was a truly enjoyable experience. See more..

The area is amazing and the guides are well informed. When we were going to have a 10 minute tour, we stayed for an hour and 10 minutes because it was amazing to see and hear about the petroglyphs. The park would be a fun place for young people to have hands on experience. A little hard to find so I'm attaching a map to help. See more..
  8. 5.0 McCroskey State Park (5 reviews)
    - A hidden gem
    National Parks
    McCroskey State Park image
This remote park located on a ridge line that cuts a swath across miles and miles of wheat fields is a must see. I pitched my tent on the top of the ridge and enjoyed cool breezes, stars and beautiful sunsets. The unfolding scenery below is idyllic. Some information says high clearance vehicles. As long as it's dry you won't have a problem. My Fiat 400 rental made it just fine. Be prepared for several miles of dirt roads they are however well maintained. During the day you may see or hear motorcycles. There is a trail that runs the ridge line that is popular. However by the time the sun is ready to set all is quiet. There is plenty of wildlife, including bears, so be alert, Great camping, great views and peaceful nights. See more..
