Because we went there last time, we initially decided to skip it and try something new. The Fainting Goat and 1313 brewing company were service poor so we ended up back at Wallace Brewing Company. They released a new beer, the 6:06 and my only regret is that I didn't take some to go. A few beers and clothes and off we went. Another great experience. I wish they'd add food. See more..

Up in Nampa, ID to visit a friend. Managed to convince him to go to a brewery. Stopped in at Crescent Brewery and were glad we did. Crescent Brewery has a variety of beers for all kinds of people. We spent time with the Jerry, the owner/brewer/custodian/jack of all trades. He was warm and gracious with everyone who came in. He really enjoys making great beer and sharing with people. He has made it a place that you can call home. Friendly and inviting. I enjoyed the Searph, Skull Splitter and the Chocolate Porter the most. Skull Splitter is a Black IPA that won a gold award. I would have to agree with the judges. Really well made black IPA. Strong coffee flavor up front with IPA finish. Chocolate Porter has the right amount of chocolate to balance this porter. Its nice and light, like a summer beer, but at the same time loaded with good taste. The Seraph is my favorite. Good IPA with bold flavor. I'd buy this at a bar/restaurant/store. Found this place as I was staying at the Riverside hotel and this was the closest brewery/taproom to where I was staying. Worth travelling all the way from Scotland for! Loved the decor and the beer was great too. I had a Baltic Porter and a sample of their brown ale. I just experienced the pleasure of this great tasting beer at Lucky 13 and had to tell somebody! I love crafted beers made locally and this is one of the finer tasting Porter's I've had the pleasure of crossing my taste buds.. Kudos to the brew master at Crooked Fence. I've only been to the tasting room once so the 4 stars is basically for their beer quality more than anything else... This is just a tasting/tap room, they don't have food of any kind (at least they didn't when I was there) so just come for the beer, which is excellent. The location isn't great & I have to assume they chose it cause it was cheep. It's basically in a strip-mall off the freeway between Meridian & Boise, which is close to exactly nowhere else I'd want to go. The Mister & I were the only people their aside from the bartender & the brew-master in the back and it was a bit awkward feeling, but I assume it must not feel that quiet and weird all the time, at least I hope it doesn't. My friend and I went to the Laughing Dog Brewery for a beer tasting before seeing a movie nearby. We were fortunate enough to meet one of the brewmasters! Remington is kind and generous. He gave us suggestions on which beer to sample based on our tastes and suggested others we might try because they were unique or seasonal. We had a great time talking beer, process, history. He is super knowledgeable and so dang nice! Very interesting. The bartender was outstanding as well. The tap room is beautiful and spacious, there is also big area outside the chill and drink. Wow! Run, don t walk to this place! My wife and i are a combined 125 years old. We ve noshed a lot of pizza in that time. So somewhat surprisingly and with out any discussion or dissension, unusual for us, we agreed the pizza we had here, the seven devils, was the best pie we had ever eaten! By a long shot. The owner and staff have always been very helpful and accommodating. The first time I went, a group of us just showed up. They moved tables for us. It was quiet that night. The second time, I called ahead and reserved tables for my group. There was live music so it was louder and full of people. You must be 21 and over and they don't serve food, but that's not a problem because you can either order food from Jimmy John's next door, or delivery from somewhere, or bring your own. We've tried all three and they all work well. I really like being able to bring my own food and not being required to buy pub food. They have a great selection of beer of tap (40-50, I can't remember exactly) and unique kinds that you can't buy in the store. Breweries Tucked in around the corner in an old business complex by the airport, it would be easy to miss North Idaho Cider... but don’t! We missed out on a typical visit to the tasting room and instead happened upon their outdoor Oktoberfest event. How festive! Rather than taste many, we only had “room” to buy a few $5 pours we were most interested which were abailable at the event. They were simple and flavorful without being overly sweet or “chemically” tasting. (Also, no sulfites or preservatives!) Keep in mind, we also chose to stick to some safe bets.
