  6. 5.0 Superfly Ziplines (2.292 reviews)
    - Well run and really exciting
Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
    Superfly Ziplines image
We had a choice of zipline outings for our visit to Whistler. We went for this one because it offers four runs in one visit - rather than one massive one - and this looked like better value for money. It was very well run, professional with a strong safety culture and the two young women who led our experience were friendly and highly competent. The equipment is well maintained. The two longer runs were mind blowing and the shorter, fast ones were really exciting. I suffer from really bad vertigo, but they put me at ease and I was able to conquer my fears early on and really enjoy the outing with my sons. See more..

The stunning beauty of Myra Canyon is worth driving on an eight kilometers stretch of very rough graveled road with many huge potholes. It was an absolute joy to walk the trail over the trestles and through the tunnels ! And the bikers love it too ! The highlights are knowing the history of this section of Kettle Valley Railway, many trestles and two tunnels, fantastic views of the canyon as well as part of the city of Kelowna and fresh mountain air. We loved visiting this place ! See more..

    - Beautiful park worth visiting!

    Yoho National Park image
We had past through this park on many occasions on route to Alberta. We had always wondered when we should visit it. Since it's the Covid pandemic and not recommended to travel outside of Canada, we decided to visit. We checked the park's website and wow, so many places to see, so many waterfalls, all shown with beautiful pictures. The first waterfall as you enter the park is the Wapta Falls. We spent two full days here and visited Wapta Falls, Natural Bridge, Emerald Lake, Hamilton Falls, Takakkaw Falls, Spiral Tunnel, Upper Spiral Tunnel Viewpoint, and The Village of Field. If you have more days, you can hike up to Laughing Falls, Twin Falls, and many more. Make sure the place you want to visit is open as it's still during the CoVid pandemic so check the website. To save time, you can buy your park pass online at banfflakelouise.com which is C$20 per day for a vehicle of 7 passengers. See more..

We walked through this park as part of our 3-hour food and drink walking tour of Kelowna. We were told that it was a joint project of the city and the hotels that are located there. A small lock was installed, leading to a sheltered area (and hotel-side docking) for small boats. See more..

    Joffre Lakes Provincial Park image
Amazing turquoise colour of the three lakes. It’s half an hour drive from Pemberton to north. It’s about 15 km uphill which need slow driving. Parking there is almost full all the summer times and usually needs online booking to start hiking. The lower lake is a 5 minutes easy hike with amazing view. The middle lake is 2.5 hours hike ( easy and medium)and the upper lake is an extra hour of difficult hike. But it worth the effort. See more..
  21. 4.5 Whistler Olympic Plaza (496 reviews)
    - Whistler Village/Town Plaza/Olympic Center ... it's all the same (awesome) thing
Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Gardens • Playgrounds
    Whistler Olympic Plaza image
Our day trip via Epic bus from Vancouver deposited us within spitting distance of the Town Plaza, Olympic Plaza, etc. but, in all honesty, this is a pretty small piece of geography. Not wanting to split hairs, it is mere steps from one point to another and all the others. And so, here it is: Whistler Village's various named off-shoots are all parts of Whistler's Village. Enjoy the adventure, eat and shop and explore. The Town Plaza is the main area upon arrival. But do adventure out to visit walking destinations (like Lost Lake) and follow your nose. The Whistler Village is small enough that folks cannot get lost unless they really, really work at it. See more..
  22. 4.5 Mount Revelstoke National Park (478 reviews)
    - Stunning!
    National Parks
    Mount Revelstoke National Park image
Buy a pass and drive up there before the wildflowers are gone! We visited two weeks ago (mid-August) when the "Meadows in the Sky" lived up to its name. Gorgeous! The drive itself is amazing, with lots of viewpoints, but you really need to get outside to truly enjoy the mountain. Because of COVID, however, the shuttle bus that takes people from the parking lot to the summit was not running. You can walk up the road, or take the trail — either option is uphill!! The trail took an hour and was a steady, though not particularly steep, climb. Take water. And mosquito repellent. And a jacket or fleece. It's generally colder at the summit, but the hiking should warm you up. Once you reach the summit there are trails all over the place, each one marked and easy to follow, though narrow. Another climb takes you even higher, to the Summit Fire Lookout and a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view. See more..

    Neck Point Park image
Free parking but slim choices even on a Monday evening at 6 pm in the summer. Trails interconnect so you can choose easy, accessible walks or more challenging and longer hikes. Views of the strait of Georgia towered over by layers of mountainous silhouettes in the background make dreamy landscapes while you play on the pebbly beaches or walk in the forests. Benches and explanatory signs at scenic spots. Fairy doors seen on some of the trees were an added treat. This Park serves as a great escape to relax and take in the nature that surrounds the city of Nanaimo. See more..

  27. 4.5 Ruckle Provincial Park (408 reviews)
    - Chris Hatfield Trail Fabulous
    Parks
    Ruckle Provincial Park image
I hiked the Chris Hatfield Trail from the trailhead located on the south end of Meyer Road. There’s a small cul-de-sac for parking and the trailhead is marked with a stone. A 20 minute walk over relatively flat terrain will take you to the ocean. You’ll walk through beautiful forest and cross a larger trail/road twice. After the second time you cross a larger trail you’ll go down a small steepish slope and over a bridge. Then you’ll have a choice to turn left and walk to a nice overlook at Cucheon Cove or go straight and come to a beach at Yeo Point. Both are worth visiting and are about 6 minutes from this fork. The beach has some nice trees for shade, lots of stones and some shells. You’ll see the ferries and some personal boats passing by but the location is very secluded. See more..
  28. 4.5 Meadows in the Sky Parkway (399 reviews)
    - What a nice place!!

Meadows in the Sky Parkway image
The road to reach the top is totally worth it! There are a few possible stops to have a view, then near the lake is THE view on the mountains and glacier far away! The hikes are well indicated. Make sure to bring repellent if you don't like mosquitos much. They aren't all biters but they love humans!! And lots of bees in August (I don't know for the other months with less flowers) See more..

  30. 4.5 Garry Point Park (366 reviews)
    - Netflix movie set...
    Parks
    Garry Point Park image
Yes, there is a large movie set at the far end of the park away from the parking lot and they have started working on site again after a pandemic hiatus. All the staff are forbidden to tell us what movie they are filming but if you look at the front windows of some of the vehicles going to and from the set, it becomes immediately clear. The mini series is Midnight Mass As for the park, large free parking lot, beautiful views of the mouth of the Fraser River and out towards Vancouver Island, and lots of open space matted with a mixture of beach grass and sand. Not a lot of services; a few walking trails, benches, picnic tables and garbage cans make up the park. But it is amazing to look west and see nature at its finest and easily forget that directly behind a sprawling city full of hustle and bustle, mechanization and man made modes of transportation, and buildings large and small stretch their tentacles right to the edge of this park. Don't turn around... 4 stars. See more..
  31. 4.5 Mount Maxwell Provincial Park (358 reviews)
    - 4WD or hike
    State Parks
    Mount Maxwell Provincial Park image
This park is a beautiful area with lots to explore, but it's NOT a drive up/get out for pictures place. If you're driving up Mt Maxwell Road, past the watershed fencing you'll either need good clearance, AWD or 4WD, and some 4x4 skills - or park and have a long hike. This is an extremely rough road in places, with significant dips and troughs which are difficult to see in the dappled sunlight. If you take your chances you're likely to have a very expensive day. At the end of the road is a large lookout parking lot, outhouse, and some fenced-off vantage points. Nice adventure but easily half a day. See more..

It is over 62, 500 hectares of beautiful British Columbia nature to explore and enjoy. It is located 11 Km North in Maple Ridge and North of the Fraser River. It is great for many different activities, like Canoeing on Alouette Lake. Hiking of course, Fishing, Swimming, Cycling is permitted, waterskiing. There are campgrounds with reservations. Stawamus Chief Park image
I did The Chief! What a challenging feat of a climb. Only 5km, by heart pumping all the way straight up 2149 feet. Stunning views of Howe Lake, Garibaldi peaks and Squamish. Reviews talk of crowds, but for a time, I was alone with The big Chief. This is one of the largest granite monoliths in the world. Take water, lunch or protein and enough daylight to take your time. Not a walk in the park! A massage the following day is highly advisable unless you are in tip top shape. I'm in great shape and still was glad to have booked a massage as I was a wee tender from the ascension See more..

Ensure that you check the tides so that you can arrive near the time of maximum tide change. The local tourist magazines show the best times to visit. For outflow tides, choose the North path when you get near the rapids. There is free parking at the museum across the road from the trail entrance, and it takes about an hour on a fairly easy, well-marked trail to walk each way to/from the rapids. It is an amazing site to see all that water rushing past. See more..
  37. 4.5 Rocky Point Park (275 reviews)
    - Family walk with my Mum-there is no option for just “family” to choose from on here
    Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
    Rocky Point Park image
My Mum and I have visited Rocky Point Park for many years, and you do see many people with children and teenagers also. It’s a beautiful place for walking, nature watching, light sports activities (tossing a ball around, nothing too aggressive) and there is an ice cream place and fish and chips restaurant; closer to the marina is a higher end restaurant. Due to COVID 19 they are practicing social distancing together with the local beer brewery/pubs nearby. For those bringing pets, do stay off the sandbars and keep them on a harness to protect the wildlife there. Bike trails, walking trails and dog park are there and it’s all easily accessible via skytrain, bus and some walking if you don’t drive. Here are a few photos, enjoy and stay safe all. See more..
  38. 4.5 Deer Lake Park (265 reviews)
    - Great suburban park
    Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM Parks
    Deer Lake Park image
I love this large suburban park. It has wetlands, lots of grassy/forested areas, and of course, the lake (Deer lake). You can rent a canoe or a paddle boat to explore the lake. Every time I come here, I feel as if I've left the big city and I'm somewhere in the countryside. This place is great for a relaxing stroll, bike ride, or a picnic. There is plenty of wildlife here as the wetlands around the lake offer nesting grounds for many birds. For that reason, pets must be on a leash. If you are lucky you may spot a bald eagle, a pheasant, or a coyote, amongst the many other wildlife such as ducks, geese, hummingbirds etc. As this park has a "wild" feel, best to go with someone for safety reasons, unless you are very familiar with the area. Kootenay National Park image
Due to the forest fires we ended up having to take a different route home from Calgary for the first time. We fell in love with the drive through Kootenay National Park and actually would prefer to take this longer route moving forward. We were surprised there was not a lot of traffic on this route. We did have to drive a little slower but it was worth it. There were lots of rest stops. All but one were well maintained. There are so many places to pull over and take pictures, we saw so much wildlife on the side of the road and some stunning lakes. We saw so much wildlife we could have played wildlife BINGO. Card will be made for next time we do this drive! Not sure if the Sinclair Canyon on your way in/out of Radium Hot Springs is part of the Kootenay National Park but it is very close and is worth a stop to walk out. Check out the view point on the one side, see the rushing river/waterfall and see the narrow canyon We saw some eagles there as well! What an awesome day! See more..
