    - A trail that compels to traverse !

    Myra Canyon Park image
The stunning beauty of Myra Canyon is worth driving on an eight kilometers stretch of very rough graveled road with many huge potholes. It was an absolute joy to walk the trail over the trestles and through the tunnels ! And the bikers love it too ! The highlights are knowing the history of this section of Kettle Valley Railway, many trestles and two tunnels, fantastic views of the canyon as well as part of the city of Kelowna and fresh mountain air. We loved visiting this place ! See more..

When you are in the Smithers area, make sure you visit Moricetown Canyon. You can watch the locals perch themselves dangerously at the edge of a gushing canyon and gorge. They are fishing for salmon and you can hold your breath as they dip their nets into the wild water and pull out some very big salmon! You can hike close by at Twin Falls and enjoy the scenery in this beaitiful wilderness area! Well worth a stop and a visit when you are in the area. See more..

    - Special thanks to the park attendant!

    Marble Canyon Provincial Park image
Love stopping at this park! The lake is beautiful and the mountains are stunning! The park is small and each campsite has access to the lake with a sitting area below your parking spot. The park attendant is the best: super accommodating, helpful, and practical ... on a Sunday morning we discovered the battery in our camper was dead. Having no cell service, the park attendant headed us in the right direction to find a new battery and continue our trip (thank you!). We look forward to seeing you again next year! See more..

I would like to add that if you are travelling via Hope, a worthwhile stop is the Othello tunnels. An easy and beautiful hike with historic information. At the right time of year you can witness salmon jumping up stream which is an actually amazing sight to witness. See more..
  6. 4.5 Farwell Canyon (18 reviews)
    - Sand dunes, Hoodoos, and Abandoned Homestead

    Farwell Canyon image
Farrell Canyon is definitely worth the side trip to see. From the junction of Hwy 07 & 20 in Williams Lake, head west on Hwy 20 for 46 km. Turn left ( following the signs) on a good gravel road. I was able to comfortably go 70 km / h in my car. At 15 km there is a viewpoint with interpretive displays. At the 19 km marker, there is a dirt road to your right. Go 50 m and park at the small memorial. A trail to the sand dunes leaves from here. It is about 35 min. one way. Half way there, take the right fork ( it is much easier and a little bit longer). The other path is causing a lot of hill erosion. This is supposedly one of the largest dunes in B.C.. Continue down the road and cross the bridge ( km 22), 100 m further, there is a pull out on the right. Here you can view the hoodoos and the canyon, as well as walk the short road down to an abandoned homestead by the river. This is a great place to spend half a day exploring. See more..

    - Peaceful canyon

Quiet campground on the Chilcotin River. Alexis Creek is a 10-15 min drive if you run out of beer, ice or snacks etc. They have a general store. This campground has a 2km Interpretative Trail along the river. You can spot the shallow caves across the hwy from here. I didn't bother climbing up to them. There are pit toilets, picnic tables and firepits. No hook ups. There's a water pump by the entrance. We tented and appreciated the flat tent spots. We spent 2 nights but not much to do but walk, eat and read a book. We used it as our jumping off point to Farwell Canyon. It's a pretty peaceful spot. Most campers were using it as an overnighter on way to/from Bella Coola. See more..
