Come enjoy our breathtaking 22 ha (55 acres) of gardens year around. In Spring, countless tulips, daffodils and hyacinths will give you a buffet of fragrances and colours. You’ll be saying “wow” when you experience our Summer: The Rose Garden, evening entertainment, subtle night illuminations, the Saturday firework show, and boat tours to name a few of the delights. Perennial borders start their stunning show in late summer, and the Japanese maples turn to russet, gold, and red in the fall. Be captivated by the Magic of Christmas with its decorations, expansive lighting and outdoor ice skating rink. Top off the day with a ride on the carousel and a great meal. Come see why we’ve been designated a National Historic Site. See more..
  2. 4.5 Miami Bridges Walk (69 reviews)
    - A really nice part of our trip
    Scenic Walking Areas
    Miami Bridges Walk image
Wonderful walk . . . forest, trees, moss, plants, views. We were the only ones on the walk and we turned around at the end and walked back. We then walked through the back of the resort (you need your Resort card to open the gate) with trees, colourful flowers, underneath a covered vine walkway, statues, ponds - just really pretty. We didn’t see anyone at the back of the hotel (nor did we see anyone last time we were here). I’m sure people don’t know about it because there would have been a lot more people. So, if you want to get away from the crowds - would like some shade - and no wind (it was very windy by the beach) then this is it! See more..

We were lucky enough to do this walk on a clear and sunny day. The views were very good, and the educational display boards along the way were very interesting. It’s not a long walk; maybe 40 minutes round-trip but well worth a visit. See more..

    Eagle Run image
This is one of the most amazing nature thrills imaginable. Virtually an uncountable amount ofBald Eagles feeding, preening, socializing and probably making plans that are up to no good :-) Seriously, this is the largest congregation of Bald Eagles in North America. Go to Squamish from Vancouver (about an hour) and then find Eagle Run - all the locals know where it. And it costs NOTHING, as in zilch, nada, free!!! See more..

  7. 5.0 Swan Lake Bird Sanctuary (8 reviews)
    - Enjoy the grassland landscape
Spent 2-3 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Swan Lake Bird Sanctuary image
I am not a bird-watcher but like to take a walk at the bird Sanctuary. It's only 5 min drive from downtown of Princeton. Went in the morning to avoid the heat. Love the serenity once entering the gate and the constant sound of singing birds. Lots of grasshoppers along the path. Not busy except a few people walking their dogs. Instead of doing the whole loop trail, I reached a bird house, about 15 min walk from the front gate, and sat on a bench enjoying the scenery. There are a few interpretative signs along showing the flowers and birds in the area. I regret not bringing a binoculars but enjoy the visit. See more..

    Squamish Spit & Estuary image
Looking at a map, we were not expecting to find anything at all at the end of the Squamish Spit after enduring some km of dusty, washboard road. Emerging from the forested area we were greeted by stunning views of the surrounding mountains, sun-dappled water and beautiful vistas of marshy land surrounding both sides of the spit, and exciting displays of kiteboarding tricks. Super windy, with friendly people enjoying this piece of paradise. See more..

    Pesuta Shipwreck Trail image
From the parking lot to the shipwreck is a soul-recharging 6k walk (each way) through a well-groomed forest trail for the first half which opens onto the river and sea shores for the remainder. The shipwreck itself is mesmerizing as you first see it sticking out of the sand on the horizon. The timbers, hand-pounded nails and other hardware are a sight. Note, this hike would be challenging for someone with mobility issues. The forest trail includes inclines and tree root trip hazards. See more..

  14. 5.0 Gold Country Geotourism (1 review)
    - Geocaching Road Trip: Cache Creek Gold Country Geotourism Trip
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Cemeteries • Mines • Scenic Walking Areas
As avid geocachers, my sister and I visited Cache Creek known for its geotourism. Located at the junction of the TransCanada Highway and Cariboo Highway 97, Cache Greek was an important hub during the Gold Rush era in British Columbia. Our visit to this historical town was to participate in their "Gold Country Geotourism". It is a great way to explore both the town and local area. Using our hand-held GPS, we did some modern treasure hunting and found four (4) geocaches and collected a "Gold Country Geotourism" sticker for each. We discovered this area has an annual geocaching event that we have put on our future to-do list. See more..
  15. 5.0 Godey Creek Trail (1 review)
    - Gold Country Geotourism: Godey Creek Trail
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas • Scenic Walking Areas
We stopped at the site of Merritt's old visitor centre to search for our first geocache of the day. As we followed the given coordinates on our GPS, we walked a cool and shady forest trail. From a posted sign, we learned that we were on the Godey Creek Trail known for its mountain biking, hiking as well as running. Visitors can bring their dog as they are allowed in the area. Bird watching is popular here. In addition, there is a picnic stop with spectacular views. It was a pleasant and easy uphill walk to locate the geocache. After finding the cache, we returned to our vehicle to continue on our adventure. See more..
  16. 4.0 Queensborough Landing Pier (1 review)
    - A Unique Place To See The Working River
    Scenic Walking Areas
    Queensborough Landing Pier image
Came across this location by accident, looking for a short walk while waiting for my Missus to finish shopping at Walmart. Steps away from a mammoth parking lot is the dyke protecting Lulu Island from the high tides of the Fraser River. While there are many "park-like" spots along the river; this one is different, due to the concentration of industry in the area. You can get a glimpse of how important this river is (and was) to the economy of the area. Log booms, rail yards, barges of (what appears to be) pilings for the new Patullo Bridge - see it all from here. And, have a half hour walk while you're at it. Watch out for evidence that a Canada Goose has recently visited the area! See more..
