  1. 5.0 Chesterman Beach (1.540 reviews)
    - Golden sand Chesterman Beach is excellent for beach days in Tofino
    Beaches
    Chesterman Beach image
Chesterman Beach features mikes of golden sand. The Pacific Ocean is chilly with wetsuit-clad surfers if all ages. We went in June 2022 for sunset viewing after dinner before the cougars and wolves. We were there until about 10:00 because the sunset was around 9:00. We actually encountered two cougars outside our in-town Tofino Airbnb upon our return. See more..
  2. 4.5 Long Beach (1.265 reviews)
    - Magical!
    Beaches
    Long Beach image
Long Beach, the longest beach of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, spans an extraordinary 16km (10mi) along the west coast of Vancouver Island. Described by locals to be magical, you will be astonished by the amount of life that call the tidal pools home. You will be sure to find crabs, shells, starfish, sea urchins and much more. As the surf comes crashing in, you will find surfers from around the world carving through the peaks of the waves. As the water settles, it gracefully rides up the beach with peaceful trickles and shimmering light from the breathtaking sunset crossing the colourful horizon. Long Beach is truly a rejunivating getaway for all ages. Whether you're looking to kickback, explore, adventure, hike, surf, or just take one of those long walks on the beach, Long Beach has it all. 4. 4.5 Crescent Beach (651 reviews)
    - Some things do not change!
    Beaches
    Crescent Beach image
If you appreciate the ocean, Cresent Beach is a "Must See". I grew up in Surrey/ North Delta, therefore we have ventured down to the ocean. I now live in Langley but still I went down to the ocean, just not (nearly) as often. The main thing that has stayed the same (you guessed it) is the OCEAN. Of course, the buildings have changed and the includes all the businesses (some just the owners have changed). However I do not pretend to know, I only observe. The only thing I am sure of was the "ROCKING VIEW" one possessed while walking along the kick-ass beach. The best of the best is a walk, on a warm summer night, at twilight with a polychromatic ocean and a warm breeze, stoking your very soul. It just does not get any better than this. See more..

This expansive beach offers fantastic picnicking opportunities, swimming, beach volleyball, or simply a panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains. Spanish Banks tends to be a quieter beach which makes it very family-friendly. See more..

Nice beach to walk around or even swim in. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my bathing suit when I visited! Clean. Good for children. There are swings and play sets as well as water activities that you have to pay for. Nice to see the boats too. My only complaint is the $10/hr. for parking! See more..
  7. 5.0 Naikoon Provincial Park (98 reviews)
    - Rose Spit is the highlight
Spent 1-2 hours Beaches • Parks
    Naikoon Provincial Park image
I'm always facinated being somewhere where two bodies of water meet, in this case the Pacific Ocean and Hecate Strait. The spit is 16kms from the raod and I highly recommend hiring a fat tire bike to get there. Reserve a bike in advance. See more..
  8. 3.5 Juniper Beach Provincial Park (60 reviews)
    - A river runs through it
    Beaches • Parks
    Juniper Beach Provincial Park image
A picturesque view of a river carved valley awaits you as you descend towards this campsite. A rocky beach with junipers for shade is an oasis for travellers. Knowing that you are camping alongside a busy transport route is important for campers expectations. The roar of the river and the winds might provide you with the white noise you need to sleep, but expect trains every 30 minutes or so. See more..

We camped here on Sept. 15, 16, 2017 for 2 nights of a 4 night vacation in Fort St. James. The flush toilet block is heated with a change room for swimming. There are fire rings and picnic tables. The scenery is very beautiful and we saw green Northern Lights in the sky both nights. From Cottonwood Park, we drove a few blocks to the free Mount Milligan Gold & Copper Mine Tour ( 250 996 7191). We enjoyed riding our bikes along the scenic and history tour (8 sights) which begins in the camp ground. We drove a few blocks to the Saturday market and to see the window murals at the Overwaitea Store. We spent a day and a half at the Fort St. James Museum(also camped there 2 nights) and Commemoration Cafe on site. See more..

Thomson park is the best picnic spot. It has a dozen picnic tables under a covering, a dock, a nice beach, a frisbee golf set up, a swing and a nice field. Go before sunset for a game of frisbee golf and stay until it's past dark to see the bio-luminescence light up the water. See more..

Easy to get to, some parking available and a short walk down to the water. Lovely spot to sit with picnic, enjoy the water, view and sunshine and explore the beach and rocky cove. The better swim area is towards the TB Community Assn buildings on the beach not the beach at the bottom of the walk way down. Interesting history to the area. See more..

  20. 4.5 Jungle Beach (2 reviews)
    - Who needs Tofino when You have Jungle Beach ;)
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
    Jungle Beach image
Ah, Jungle Beach! This modest area truly is a wonderful stretch of sand. I remember coming here, as a youngster, with the family on warm summer days. We’d come with towels, beach chairs, inflatables and food – lots of food –for picnics. At low tide, you could seemingly walk for miles before finally hitting the ocean. And then, once you grew tired of the water, you could amble towards the intertidal pools and admire the rich sea life contained within: Starfish, Sand dollars, beach crabs, bullheads, and even ghost shrimp, if you’re lucky. Then, after a relaxing swim or casual stroll along the beach, it’s time to eat: Get the fire going and roast some marshmallows or hotdogs; get the fried chicken and potato salad . . . and maybe some Country Time Lemonade. What could be better than casual eats in the warm sun, and with good company? Indeed, many a fine hour can – and should – be spent here. Thus, I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviewer. Jungle Beach certainly is a beach-worthy experience! [A curious aside: There’s an extremely rough “trail” across the road from Jungle Beach called the Drain Lake Trail. To access it, simply cross Highway 16 directly in front of the carved black bear. After pushing your way through the bush, you’ll enter a moderate clearing adjacent a creek. There’s some evidence of a trail at times but, as noted, it’s rough and unmarked. Step with caution over the mounds of deadwood, root systems and rotten logs. We barely walked 300 meters along the alleged path before calling it quits. If you’re up for a challenge, you can walk the nearly 4 kilometers to – you guessed it – Drain Lake. Don’t knock yourself out!] See more..

    - It was a quiet beach.
    Beaches • Parks
It was a quiet beach. Very small town. Had a small marina and a shop. Very few people live in Seymour Arm. I guess it can be accessed by boat from salmon arm though we came by road which is long. Sometimes the beach sand glistens like silver and hence the name - Silver beach See more..

  23. 5.0 Sicamous Public Beach Park (1 review)
    - Kootenays Road Trip: Sicamous Public Beach Park
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
As my sister and I continued our search for geocaches, we visited Sicamous Public Beach Park. We parked our vehicle in the spacious lot and followed the paved walking trail through the park. After finding the geocache, we sat at one of the many provided benches and enjoyed the views. A play ground, splash park, picnic tables and public washrooms are all part of this beautiful beach. We watched as children climbed up the sides of a bridge in the park, then jumped into the waters — a fun but dangerous thing to do. Dogs are permitted but must be on leash. The sandy beach invited visitors to sun tan. Mature trees provided shade. Concessions are also available. See more..
