Definitely the best library I’ve ever been to. I spent a very happy hour on a rainy day sitting in front of a roaring fire with my book and a giant coffee (purchased elsewhere). It is a wonderful space, very light and airy with lovely pieces of art on the walls. There is a gorgeous wall hanging above the fire made by the local Quilters’ Guild. I so wish I lived nearby. Great Big Branch! Two expansive floors (three if you count the administration level) that cover anything you may need - from computers to children’s books and more. I love atriums, always have. The atrium views, the majestic skylights high up above, the grandiose windows and tasteful artwork, make this space feel oh so magical. See more..

  18. 4.0 Port Moody Public Library (1 review)
    - Lovely Little Library, Fantastic Service, Excellent Interlibrary Loan Services
    Spent 1-2 hours Libraries
The Port Moody Public Library isn't the largest library, but it has always provided us with friendly, helpful and professional services with a smile. When I made requests that were more unusual or more difficult, the Library staff simply worked harder and made good things happen. They have proven that they are their to serve the people of their community. The staff at Port Moody Public Library are definitely a strength here. I love the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services that have helped me access print materials from all over the Province. Port Moody Public Library has provided books from many hours drive away that I could have never had access to. While PMPL is small, their catalog is as big as the biggest libraries in BC when one considers the benefits of these ILL services. ILL does not cover multimedia resources (CD, DVD, etc), but many resources are available by download or e-reader. This is a great place to take your kids to explore children's books, while the rest of the family members use the computers, study for class, access the Internet, read a recent periodical, or curl up and read a book. It is also a good place to check out community activities and read fliers about classes and recreational activities that are available. Recommended Length of Visit... In & Out to grab a book, or Stay 'til Closing... The choice is yours. Attached to the Port Moody City Hall and the Inlet Theatre (performing arts), and very close to the Port Moody Recreational Complex, the Port Moody Public Library is centrally located, and a great example of a community centre complex. This is a great place for all ages, all weather conditions, and all reading adventures. I highly recommend the Port Moody Public Library. See more..
