We had an incredible experience. The staff were absolutely delightful and very professional and Spirit of the West did so much to make the trip special. Gifts and Prosecco to two people celebrating their joint 60th, lovely appetizer platters when we returned from our day of kayaking right down to hot water bottles to take to bed :) Aleah was a great cook and Alex and Thomas wonderful guides. Alex was up long before daylight with her flashlight on our last day to bring us a whole selection of marine life for a talk she gave over breakfast. There was not a detail left out. The Discovery Island expedition tour was a fantastic Canadian west coast adventure. The Wildcoast expedition was well managed and well planned, from gear and route to amazing food for every single meal. The guides, Morgan and Brychen, worked so hard, non stop with great attitudes and friendliness, making everyone feel welcome and included. Safety was important on the water but there was also room to roam, swim, fish and explore on the islands, and along the coastline. We had a diverse group of 10 participants, ages 13 to mid 60ties and everyone was having a blast. We kayaked about 5-7 hours every day with a good lunch break in the middle. Campgrounds were diverse and interesting. Saw humpback whales, eagles and bioluminesence at midnight. The experience is rustic yet luxurious, and the best part is being immersed in beautiful nature 24/7. This was our first kayaking trip but certainly will not be the last.See more..

The entire experience could not have been better, and your skills and knowledge are mind-blowing of our beautiful ecosystem, geography, flying skills and the care and attention that you give to each participant. What a magical experience for my 1st attempt at Kayaking. I could have spent the whole day just fishing on the edge of Paradise Lake it is truly beautiful. I especially liked that you did not want any of the pop to be poured out onto the beach sand, rather securing it and transporting the left-over back to the airport for proper drainage. I took over 75 photos, but cut them down to just over 50 last night. I can't wait for the drone photos that Compass Heli Tours took during the tour. Thank you Nic. My friend and I recently rented a double kayak from Gulf Island Kayaking for an overnight trip on nearby Wallace Island. The kayak was in great condition and perfect for the excursion. By far the biggest plus was the amazing insider knowledge given to us by Ben. He told us about the best route to get there and special places to spot wildlife (including baby seals!) on the island. Our trip was made significantly better because we followed his advice. We were also able to book a shuttle to get to and from the ferry terminal, which was incredibly helpful. An excellent full day on the water (10-4 pm) with a terrific young guide Nick. Lots of sea life visible with humpback whales spouting, a colony of seals checking us out, eagles, herons, starfish, etc.. lunch was a tasty quinoa salad, veggies on the beach... Kye and her kids were great! They set my wife and I up for a wonderful day kayaking Otter Bay. We really appreciated the safety tutorial Kye gave to us. We have been kayaking many times, but this was the first time an operator taught us what to do if things go wrong. Otter Bay is a beautiful location for a day trip from Victoria. we loved being close to hiking and walking trails. Even though the restaurants were not running as usual because of Covid , we found the breakfast was excellent. We found the room in the lodge a bit noisy from doors closing etc. It was a clean average room, but served our purpose of just a one nighter on our road trip. Booked the Bear Raft River Drift with Kynoch. Was in contact with Fraser via email and he was very prompt with his replies and was very helpful to get us on a Raft Drift. We went on the late afternoon and within the first 10mins we saw a bear and we kept seeing them. Fraser knew where they were and was very patient to wait for the bears to come to us. Fraser has a ton of knowledge of bear behaviors, history, stories and community interactions with the bears. He was very educational which was some of the best part of the trip. I really appreciated Frasers respect for the bears and giving them their space and his confidence in being so close to the bears on the river. I had total trust in him navigating us through the river. I highly recommend this company and when I'm back in Bella Coola again I will do the Raft Drift again.See more..
Perfect in every way. Our entire family ( Mom , Dad and 3 teen daughters ) had an exceptional experience. We unplugged and enjoyed every moment of this unique off grid retreat. Brody and Christina are the loveliest hosts. We felt welcome in their home and appreciated the great care they took to accommodate our daughter’s severe food allergy. The family accommodation was superb. Learning to live in a sustainable way was a unique experience. Our group ranged in ages from 14 to 71, and it worked perfectly. The food was excellent and plentiful. We loved dining at the waters edge with our fellow travellers. The kayaking experience was outstanding. We had an absolutely fantastic 4 day trip and would highly recommend Orca Dreams to whomever truly wants to experience observing whales at their best in the wild. There are obviously never any guarantees but our host JD’s knowledge and network in the area are the best there is. Luckily Mother Nature was on our side as the weather (mid August) was perfect and whale viewings were abundant. The Orca Dreams friendly staff are knowledgeable ensuring your stay is safe, clean and a whole lot of fun! Not to mention the food is healthy and delicious. Our group was a fun loving perfect mix of families and couples. The schedule is kept light and organized on a daily basis. I just returned from a five day hut to hut hiking trip and it was an exceptional experience. I absolutely give Shuswap Water Sports a 5 start rating!! I originally booked a tour (July 2020) to check out the Lake and see Copper Canyon, we anchored there for a bit, as some of our group wanted to go cliff jumping. My family and friends had such a great time, we booked again for the next day to learn how to wake surf.....Dianne was our coach for the day, she was extremely safety orientated, with Covid-19 practice's in place, professional, and patient with all of us.
