So many coffee shops to choose from. International cafes. We were surprised by the selection. Great bookshops to look through. Second hand and antique shops. Clothing shops too. Really easy to spend a couple of hours there. One of the region's best craft and arts shop, just had to buy some gifts there. If you go on a Wednesday morning there is a street market, local produce and gift items. See more..

We stopped at the site of Merritt's old visitor centre to search for our first geocache of the day. As we followed the given coordinates on our GPS, we walked a cool and shady forest trail. From a posted sign, we learned that we were on the Godey Creek Trail known for its mountain biking, hiking as well as running. Visitors can bring their dog as they are allowed in the area. Bird watching is popular here. In addition, there is a picnic stop with spectacular views. It was a pleasant and easy uphill walk to locate the geocache. After finding the cache, we returned to our vehicle to continue on our adventure. See more..
