    D Dutchmen Dairy image
We stopped here on our way East from Vancouver Island. You couldn't miss it! The long wait in line gave us ample time to decide what flavour of ice cream we wanted (so much pressure given the extensive menu and long-line endorsement). I went for the simple blueberries and cream, and it was heavenly. You can explore the barn and say hello to the cows and baby calves while you enjoy your treat. It was a wonderful stop that I can't wait to make again! See more..

Winemaker Gene Covert is a 3rd generation farmer who worked this land with his father and grandfather. Our certified organic estate vineyards are influenced by the majestic McIntyre Bluff and managed with biodynamic practices. We craft our estate wines with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation when possible to focus on vineyard and fruit. Our white wines display purity of fruit and a crisp natural acidity coveted by growers, and low yields result in terroir-focused artisan reds that are luscious and age-worthy. Those who love recreation dually appreciate our location at the gateway to the iconic Okanagan landmark McIntyre Bluff, which makes a great place to picnic, bike ride or hike. Secrest Organics at Covert Farms operates our seasonal fruit & vegetable stand, and visitors can get their hands dirty in the u-pick section - selecting ripe produce under the summer sun. See more..

We enjoy going through the Pumpkin patch, lots of photo ops here and the Grandkids love feeding the goats. We really appreciate that they do not charge a visitors fee as do some of the other local Farms. There is a nice picnic area which we took advantage of and brought lunch along to enjoy the outdoors on a sunny Autumn afternoon. They also follow Covid protocol in the Store. Crannog Ales image
Got stranded in Sorrento for a few days and decided to go exploring. On my walk up to the brewery (a bit of a trek from town on foot), the brewery's delivery driver stopped and offered me a ride. Was able to talk to some of the staff, learn a little about the brewery and the farm, and buy a nice variety of brews to take back to the motel. Absolutely amazing staff, really good European style brews with a crafty local twist, and could not have been happier with my entire experience. After spending a half hour with the staff at the brewery, the driver took me back into town on his way to another delivery. Incredibly generous and serendipitous. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting. See more..

  29. 4.5 The Local Harvest Market (11 reviews)
    - A Highly Recommended Unique Experience!
    Spent 1-2 hours Farms
    The Local Harvest Market image
Our farm market is special in that the majority of food available is grown right here on our 37 acre farm. This means that our customers are locavores choosing to eat organically grown, in-season foods when they're at their peak nutritionally and taste the best. We grow every imaginable vegetable and fruit that can be grown in our region--greens, radishes, beets, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, artichoke, rhubarb, currants, raspberries, blueberries...and the list goes on and on. The availability of foods at our market varies throughout the season. We don't ever import produce so this means that we won't have tomatoes through the winter and sometimes due to unpredictable weather or pest damage some foods are in limited supply even when they'd normally be available. It's more important for us to remain true to our mission to solely provide local food than to compromise by importing food from other countries and continents. And, to our great happiness, an ever growing number of people in our area also wish to support a budding local food system. Our customers want to support their neighboring farms and provide lasting benefits to our society, economy and environment. Our farm is also open to the public during market hours. We believe in full transparency. Come and walk around our farm and see where your food comes from and how it's grown. There are no secrets here. Our vision is a food-secure community where every citizen has access to local food year-round. My family and fellow-farmers will work tirelessly to make this dream a reality! --Dan and Helen and everyone at The Local Harvest Market See more..

The owners love for their land shows and I really appreciated the talk about the different kinds of lavender and the products they make. The store is beautiful and they have an amazing variety of products for sale. The Lavender hand lotion is one of the nicest I've used and I can't wait to try the pillow spray and the essential oils.
