    Billy Proctor's Museum image
Billy is now in his late 80s but in good health. His days on this property will be limited so visit while you have a chance to enjoy this very memorable experience. Take the time to chat with Billy as his stories are just as important as all of the artifacts that he has on display. It was a memorable experience for all of us on the MV Swell, one of Maple Leaf Adventures small ships. It is a tugboat built in 1912 but not as old as many of Billy's treasures. See more..

"Tractors...and a whole lot more" was my original thought as a title for this report. But, as a person who loves history, and has visited small town museums all over the province (and throughout Canada) I found this place much more than that! The volunteers are to be commended on what will be found here. First off, the large building near the access road includes an enormous collection of tractors, cars, milk trucks, you name it. On the outside, a small village from about 100 years ago - a shame someone parked some present day cars in the area. I really enjoyed the trip into the past, and hope that you will too. See more..

    Granisle Travel Information Centre image
If you enjoy the peace and quiet of a remote community, check out the northern interior village of Granisle. It is located on the shores of Babine Lake, the longest natural lake in B.C. The earliest inhabitants of the area were known as Carrier, and they remain to this day. Granisle was founded in the late 1960s to house the families of miners working in the copper mines. It is now a retirement and tourist destination. Babine lake is beautiful, and the little museum/visitor centre is charming and worth a visit. It features all kinds of local history and artifacts.
