    Beavers Bend Resort Park image
My family and I rented a cabin in Carsons Creek. It was easily accessible to any restaurant and lake entrance. It took 5 mins to Carsons Creek and another 10-15 mins to Stevens Gap. Since the restrictions due to COVID-19 many restaurants close early. Many do offer take out but not much dine in. You will not be bored. Many things to do...axe throwing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing... or just taking in the beautiful views and wildlife. See more..

  16. 4.0 Blue Whale of Catoosa (481 reviews)
    - Interesting and Unusual
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Blue Whale of Catoosa image
This is an interesting place to stop. I would recommend it if you are traveling on Rte. 66 (although not worth making a special trip to go out of the way). There is a picnic area and a small trail. The whale itself has two places where there are two floors. To get to the upper floors, there are ladders, so that part is not handicap accessible. At the tail of the whale, the upper floor has no safety railings, so it is not a place to mess around. Swimming is not allowed, but since the whale has slides to the water, I assume at one point, swimming was allowed. See more..
  17. 4.0 Center Of The Universe (474 reviews)
    - My most searched review
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Center Of The Universe image
Out of over 500 reviews, The Center of the Universe in Tulsa, OK is by far my most seen review. Now that it has been predominantly featured in the Paramount plus TV show, The Tulsa King staring Sylvester Stallone, I felt like it was time to revisit the landmark. Located in the heart of downtown Tulsa, it remains a mystery of the best kind. People travel from all over to see and experience what the feeling is all about. Everyone has their own opinions, so come check it out for yourself and see what the fuss is about. See more..
  18. 4.5 The Pioneer Woman Mercantile (469 reviews)
    - A perfect road trip experience from California!
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
    The Pioneer Woman Mercantile image
My wife really wanted to visit the PW Mercantile, so on her 50th birthday, we had a road trip from California and had an overnight stopover in Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Amarillo then Pawhuska. We stayed at the Frontier Hotel because the PW Boarding House was fully booked but our room was even special because it has the view of the Mercantile Store. The next day we went early to have our breakfast and was seated by the restaurant hostess (she is unpleasant). The food was good and my wife was ready to shop but she finds it a little bit disappointing because she did not meet her expectations to be wowed. While we were shopping, a nice lady, Mona, greeted us and we had a little chat and took some photos with her. Our overall experience was still great and we did enjoy our time at the Merc, the Lodge, P-town, Charlies and Pawhuska. See more..

This museum was astonishing. It was one of the most well done museums we have ever been too. The American memorabilia is displayed so well. The displays are amazing and so interesting. We came because we’re on a Route 66 adventure and it did not disappoint in that area but had so much more. This is a must see museum for any driving through Oklahoma on Route 66 and honestly I would recommend it anyone on Route 66 or otherwise. See more..
  22. 4.5 Moore Warren Theatre (399 reviews)
    - Screening Room
Sunday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Movie Theaters
    Moore Warren Theatre image
We have been going to the Warren Theatre for years. Just reverting the Warren started allowing patrons to select the seats you want. I don't think I'll go back to general admission. The screening rooms have big, power reclining seats, with cup holders and individual tables. There is plenty of room for people to walk in front of you, as they go to their seats. I'd recommend trying the Warren; I'm almost certain that you will not go back to another theatre. See more..

finished dinner in Bricktown and was walking along the river walk when we heard the baseball game. - Don’t miss this .
    Government Buildings
    State Capitol image
We visited the state capitol building for a free something to do out of the heat. We were very surprised and happy with our visit. The building itself inside has been redone and itself is a work of art. The murals and detailing in the rotunda are so beautiful. While we were there they were completing the placement of over 40 very large new paintings of the people and topography of Oklahoma. There is a free museum on the first floor. I would recommend that you start on the top floor of the rotunda and work your way down each floor to see the art work. See more..

I always enjoy the games here and would suggest it to everyone. See more..

    - Well Cared For Statue
    Monuments & Statues
    The Golden Driller image
This iconic Rt 66ish stop has to be one of the better stops. It is in Tulsa at the Expo Center. We were the only ones here when we visited, but it is one of those things that you get your photos and move on. The statue gets good care and it shows. It stands about 76 feet tall and should withstand 200mph tornado winds. There is parking right in front of the Expo Center where the statue is, so it is easy in and easy out. Thanks, Tulsa, for a fun stop and for keeping the Golden Driller looking good! See more..

    - Historic Old Round Barn on Route 66
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites
    The Old Round Barn image
We were in the area to check out a few places in Arcadia, Oklahoma. We stopped to check out this part of history. We parked across the street but then saw they have a parking lot behind the Red Round Barn. There were a few other visitors but the place is big and we could easily move around to read about the things we saw. Interesting architecture inside of the Round Barn. Lot of cool items. They have restrooms, (neither of us used), so I can not comment on cleanliness. They also have some items for sale, like a yard sale as well as gift shop items. You have to go up stairs to enter the Barn and it was rather hot up there. It did not take us long to see everything. Glad we stopped to check it out. See more..

    The Holy City image
This is a large area with lots of buildings and things to see. One should plan on at least an hour to get around and enjoy the buildings, the views, and more. We spent about three hours looking at everything and got some very nice pictures of Holy City and of the surrounding mountains. There were a lot of people at Holy City the day we were there and it was much appreciated that people followed social distancing and wearing masks. The gentleman in the gift shop (Paul maybe) was very informative with information to people asking questions. The gift shop is nice, but not a lot to choose from. There is a re-enactment of some sort on Easter morning and maybe someday we'll take the opportunity to see this. We hear there are many, many people who attend this so we'll see. Very enjoyable time! It’s hard to believe something so splendid is smack dab in the middle of the city. I love watching the sailboats and the lighthouse always makes the perfect backdrop for gorgeous photographs. Lake Hefner is a great place to unwind, people watch or take in nature’s beauty ranging from flowers to animals. The more adventurous will love walking, running or biking around the entire lake. This is my favorite casino outside of Las Vegas. The property itself is gorgeous, it smells wonderful, I know, huh? Smoking is allowed but the scent or air freshener used is very fresh and pleasant. The rooms never disappoint. They are larger than other local properties I’ve visited and the bed itself extremely comfortable. I really miss room service since Covid19, but anxiously await its return once the vaccine is distributed and virus contained. The pools, especially the outside one is clean and huge! The gift shop has really cute things all the time, I usually find something I want every visit, The staff at Downstream are service-oriented, food better than average, and gaming fresh. Very investing museum established in 1960 that has evolved with time. The museum has several engaging hands-on exhibits. * Most innovative was a 3D sand table that dynamically sensed sand contours (i.e. sand above the table) and projected contour lines and color-coded "elevation" map on the sand. Innovative introduction / visualization appropriate for all ages. * Hands on exhibit of a mechanical wind mill (for example used to pump water from a well). * Hands on exhibit of a wind turbine for converting wind to electrical energy. Encourages experimentation with different blade shapes and number of blades to maximize energy conversion. Many other educational exhibits about the Great Plains (1) Geography (2) People and (3) History. See more..

Our visit was with extended family, a mini family reunion with mostly adults and one toddler. I’m glad we rented the ADA cabin for my parents, one of which has limited mobility. We also rented another one bedroom cabin, a two bedroom cabin and a duplex. Our two bedroom cabin had very irregular steps that were vintage and beautiful, but could be treacherous for some. We had a fantastic time! We were fortunate to get to eat at the newly opened Foggy Bottom Kitchen - yummo!! See more..

This was such a cool experience! There are literally thousands upon thousands of bison that are just chilling by the road. They are peaceful and intimidating at the same time. We got lots of amazing pictures and were generally awestruck by the landscape and the bison. I will say it's not an all-day activity, we went right before sunset and saw a ton of bison but once we got our pictures it was pretty much done. Honestly, I'm amazed it's free. Highly recommend, especially if you're new to Oklahoma. See more..
  46. 4.0 Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City (244 reviews)
    - Awesome outlet mall with great deal$
Sunday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Shopping Malls
Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City image
My teen daughters and I love shopping here. There is alot of great shops to cater to all of our needs. There is a coupon book available from customer service, it was free then, and almost every shop had a legitimate coupon. Lots of $10 off $50 coupons, and 10-30% off's also. This mall is only in the 1st phase. There are many more shops being added monthly. Saturday afternoon is when the shops are the busiest, try Sat opening time or after 5 if you don't like crowds. The deals I have found at Coach are amazing-many of their bags are still available at other Coach stores, and the outlets are usually half off in comparison. Shop the back of store clearance area-almost always the merchandise is marked half off and they will offer an additional 50% off most marked down items! Aeropostale has amazing prices and offers a $10 off $50 in the coupon book! You must look in the back of all stores-this is where you will find the best bargains! We highly recommend!! See more..
