Olivet Cemetery maintains the remains of several famous bull riders. Their tombstones are decorated with small tokens of affection. Several circuses overwintered in the Hugo area and the cemetery has a section for these traveling performers. Very interesting tombstones. Great stop over if you are passing through the area.See more..
4.5Geronimo's Grave(36 reviews) - Nice to see a part of history Cemeteries
We've visited the grave site of Geronimo many times over the past four decades. While the picture shows the figure on top, it is often missing. Even after replacing it with a new one, it disappears (souvenir?). Then there are the stories of whether Geromino is truely buried there or if his remains were dug up days after his burial and taken to his homeland of the Arizona mountains. Some say yes, some say no. Regardless, it's a stop not to pass by.See more..

3.5GAR Cemetery(2 reviews) - Be sure to check out the British Flyers Memorial Spent < 1 hour Cemeteries
G.A. R. stands for Grand Army of the Republic, the veterans who fought on the Union side in America’s Civil War. Miami’s G.A.R Cemetery contains the graves of many Civil War veterans, both Union and Confederate, but this is not the only reason that history buffs and other tourists are attracted to it. A section of the cemetery contains a British Flyers Memorial with the graves of more than a dozen young British pilots who died while training at a flight school that was operated in Miami during World War II. Over the years, many relatives have come from the UK to visit the memorial and take part in commemorative services. We visited the memorial during our tour of the cemetery and found the experience to be both emotional and educational. Check out the G.A.R monument on the entrance road. Weekday visitors can stop by the cemetery office during normal business hours and get relevant information and materials.See more..
I was out running around recently and came across the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma Cemetery & Veterans Memorial. I stopped in to pay my respects ♥️ It’s a beautiful monument honoring those Seminole members who have served in the military and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Very well kept and I really enjoyed seeing the markers on the back area near the flagpoles that described attributes in the Seminole language along with their symbols. I found the layout to be a wonderfully arranged design to truly showcase an impressive, peaceful representation of remembrance. I thought it was really well done See more..
