Contact Hochatown Pontoon and Boat Rentals for an awesome experience on the lake. The lake was clean and not overcrowded on a weekday. We enjoyed exploring various areas of the lake, floating in inflatables, jumping off rocks into lake, and tubing. Beautiful scenery! See more..

    - Piece of heaven in The City

    Hefner Lake & Park image
It’s always beautiful to drive or walk around the lake. Great restaurants with patio dining and wonderful views, especially if you’re lucky enough to capture a spectacular sunset. It’s hard to believe something so splendid is smack dab in the middle of the city. I love watching the sailboats and the lighthouse always makes the perfect backdrop for gorgeous photographs. Lake Hefner is a great place to unwind, people watch or take in nature’s beauty ranging from flowers to animals. The more adventurous will love walking, running or biking around the entire lake. Plenty of people also fish on the lake so make sure you have permit before you do so. ☀️ ‍♀️ ⛵️ See more..
  3. 4.0 Arcadia Lake (86 reviews)
    - This was an OK place to stay

    Arcadia Lake image
We stayed a week over Christmas, very few sites with sewer hookups, had to dump mid week then reset up (a bit of a pain). Quite a few only had electric, no water or sewer. It was a nice enough place to stay, quiet, nice bathrooms & showers. Camp host were never at guard shack, always found them at camper location. Hard to get a hold of someone on phone, first come first serve, no reservations. (another pain). When you drive all they way you don't know what if anything will be available. See more..
  4. 4.5 Grand Lake O' the Cherokees (84 reviews)
    - Truly one of the top lakes in the country
    Bodies of Water
Grand Lake O' the Cherokees image
Living here for over 20 years I believe Grand is truly one of the top lakes in the country. With over 1,300 shoreline mile there is plenty room for recreation, excellent marinas, and Bass Master quality fishing. The South part of the lake is the high dollar end with 50 foot cruisers and million dollar homes. The North end is more of a nature, redneck, pontoon boat area. Shangri-La is a great place to stay if like a resort type stay. Pine Lodge has little cabins in the woods. Both I recommend. The best place to eat is Rancho Viejo Mexican Restaurant in Grove. Try the Tamales and the Margarita Gold. See more..
  5. 4.0 Lake Murray State Park (73 reviews)
    - Very pretty park.

    Lake Murray State Park image
We visited the park over two days for some fishing and sightseeing. This is a very scenic park and all of the facilities looked to be very nice. We are not into camping anymore so we stayed in Ardmore which is only about a 15 minute drive from the park. The park does not charge an entrance fee but does charge for parking. If you rent a camp space, your parking is included. You can use an online app to prepay your parking in advance and there is no check-in at the park. Very convenient. We did some fishing feom the two fishing piers in the park. I use a mobility scooter and both are easily accessible. Lots of bites and drowned worms but no luck. The park was very peaceful and there were lots of hikers and bikers using the trails. We, along with our fur babies, enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful weather. We will definitely be back. See more..
  6. 4.5 Veteran's Lake (65 reviews)
    - Almost a private lake
    Bodies of Water
    Veteran's Lake image
Beautiful little lake with picnicking areas, walking/exercise path, pavilion for gatherings. Eventhough this is park of the large National Park known as Chickasaw National Recreation Area, it feels almost like a private lake. Most folks go to Lake of the Arbuckles at this Park for boating, fishing and camping. But Veteran's Lake is excellent for day use and smaller boats. Also, during the recent flooding of May and June 2015, this lake stayed open. Lake of the Arbuckles had to close due to safety concerns and property damage issues. See more..
  7. 5.0 Lower Mountain Fork River (40 reviews)
    - gorgeous
    Bodies of Water
    Lower Mountain Fork River image
we never found any signage, specifying where we went, as lower mountain fork river, but i believe that's where we were. oklahoma has a bad reputation, for not having enough signs. there's a parking area and picnic tables, but walking on the river banks is the draw here. on the parking lot side of the road, it's flat. we were their during trout season. there were many fly fisherman there. across the road, from the parking lot, are where the falls and rapids are. the trail is pretty good. along the riverbank. but, everyone that parks, as of july 2020. needs a parking pass. you can get them on your phone. if you are not in their system, you will get a ticket. Blue River is a great spot to go and fish, swim, or just look out at the water. They have rope swings and other fun things to do. I would also recommend stopping by Scotty’s One Stop on the way back. They have the best burgers around. See more..
  9. 4.5 Claremore Lake (38 reviews)
    - Beautiful

    Claremore Lake image
A relative has lived in Claremore for over five years, and we never knew this beautiful lake was just 10 minutes from her home! The west side of the lake has a nice park, water-play area ("splash pad"), walking trail, and fishing spots. The east side is mostly a residential street without many places to stop, but there's a parking lot at the trailhead for the mountain biking trails. Those trails are also good for hiking, but even the easiest one was what I would call moderate, with relatively steep inclines and lots of roots along the path. See more..

    Salt Plains State Park image
This is a very nice park! We visited in January as part of day trip to the area. We first visited the park office, which includes a tiny gift shop. The staff was super friendly and super helpful. The lady there gave us lots of info about not only the park, but also the wildlife refuge and the surrounding areas. We drove down to the spillway and walked from the top of the dam all the way down to the bottom of the spillway. Lots of great views and lots of birds. We also drove through the rest of the park and stopped down by the lake where there were great views of the lake and the dam. There were very few people here in January when we visited. But the facilities look great (including the campsites, cabins, playgrounds, and bathrooms). Looks like a great place for family fun when the weather is a bit warmer. See more..
  12. 3.5 Tall Chief Cove (26 reviews)
    - Lovely camping spot.

    Tall Chief Cove image
Three loops for campers, RVs, trailers or tents. The camping spaces (I was on the C loop) are very spacious - not at all crowded together. My space had a covered picnic table with a grill, and a fire ring for sitting by the fire - very nice on the evening. A perfect kayak launching beach was about 30 feet from my camp spot. The C loop has bathrooms, no showers. Showers are available in the A and B loops. There's a very large pavilion in the C loop for parties/group activities. Take LONG hoses for water hookups! The water connection required every hose I had with me (4 of varying lengths) and I wouldn't have made it without my inline filter. A very 0peasant stay and I look forward to coming back! See more..

Bernice Area at Grand Lake State Park image
The campground is small and wasn't even half full during our visit, which made it extra nice. Camp site was easy to back into. Nice bite of the lake. Bathrooms are as expected at a state park; not great, not terrible. No one checked to confirm our reservation, and it seemed that people freely came and went, mostly to use the restrooms. My only hesitation about returning is the traffic noise from the adjacent highway. See more..

I laugh at all the post on the water. This is a flowing stream. It starts way up the north on the walkway so it's not stagnant. They have completely went through and drained scrubbed and painted it within the last 5 years. Medicine Park has done wonderful things to this area. It's a beautiful place. We've been taking our children where they now take their children. We l love Medicine Park in the Wichita wildlife area..My children have actually climbed Mount Scott. And I'm talking even grandchildren as young as seven.. My craziest child climbed up it and then down it. See more..
  15. 4.5 Oologah Lake (14 reviews)
    - A flatwater recreation magnet
    Bodies of Water
    Oologah Lake image
I like the abundantly wooded setting of this lake and the fact that the reservoir is large enough to afford a wide range of flatwater recreational opportunities. Having gained views of this good looking lake from the dam and from the high vantage point of the Will Rogers Dog Iron Ranch, I’m primed to tour it in a boat. Maybe some day? See more..

A mostly shallow spring/creek. There isn’t much current in the swimming area. There is a small deeper spot near the overflow spillway dam. I could touch but your kids won’t. So non-swimmers beware. It was 95* when we went, but the water was 65* near the spring. It felt great. See more..

    Lake Carl Etling image
Located within the well maintained Black Mesa State Park, Lake Carl Etling provides scenic fishing opportunities with excellent camping and camper facilities and bed and breakfasts nearby in the Kenton, Oklahoma area. The lake is just a few miles from Black Mesa, the highest point in the State of Oklahoma. The high point can be reached by a fairly challenging hike up through a nature preserve area. It is worth the effort! Bring a camera! See more..

  23. 2.5 Sportsman Lake (2 reviews)
    - Quiet Lake with Fishing, Swimming and Camping
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
This is a nice little lake with equestrian trails, hiking, swimming, fishing and camping. A very nice swim beach is was very sandy and well marked. There are fishing docks and a fishing bridge for bank fishing. No Jet Skis, Skiing or Tubing allowed, just a small fishing lake. Very quiet. We stayed two nights for $15.00 per night, so a good price as well. The bathrooms were not clean and the showers were not working, but we stay in an RV so we didn't need them. Can make reservations by calling the ranger, will need to text him however as he doesn't answer his phone. See more..

    - The ONLY full service marina on Oologah Lake.

    Redbud Bay image
Redbud Bay Marina has everything you would expect to have at a marina- boat rentals, gas, food, service, and it is the ONLY marina on Oologah Lake in Oklahoma. We enjoy the ice cream and pizza on the dock in the summer time and the people are friendly. Oologah Lake itself is one of the top sailing destinations in Oklahoma and the south end of the lake has plenty of recreation opportunities. Redbud also offers cabins and rv sites for rent and we saw a lot of stand up paddle board renters out having fun on the water. See more..
