Well Cared For Statue

This iconic Rt 66ish stop has to be one of the better stops. It is in Tulsa at the Expo Center. We were the only ones here when we visited, but it is one of those things that you get your photos and move on. The statue gets good care and it shows. It stands about 76 feet tall and should withstand 200mph tornado winds. There is parking right in front of the Expo Center where the statue is, so it is easy in and easy out. Thanks, Tulsa, for a fun stop and for keeping the Golden Driller looking good!

    Easy stop and worth seeing
The 76-foot-tall statue is at the Tulsa Expo Center. There is a small parking lot in front of the statue so it was easy to make a 5-minute stop for photos. It is such a weird piece of Americana that you should not miss it if you have time to stop by.

    Tall Man
This is really nothing but a large oil well figure. Picture it as Big Tex before he burnt down. This is an iconic statue at the Tulsa Fairgrounds and a large oil derrick, he has been around as long as I have. It is neat to see but no real thrill. I guess it would be ICONIC TULSA!
