Then hung out & had a sandwich waityfoe the raft trip with Jaysie(4 of us) & Clara(5). The water level was low so it was very rocky making it even more exciting! All of our guides made it a super fun experience. They had 3 bus loads going at 1:00 & did a pretty good job of getting us all on a raft in a timely manner. My wife and I booked a half day whitewater rafting trip as part of our weekend anniversary trip to Yellowstone National Park. Absolutely zero complains from us! The guys and gals of Wild West Rafting know exactly how to show you an awesome time on the river. Professional and experienced guides is what you pay for, but they also throw in some jokes and stories throughout the day to keep you entertained lol. The horseback ride offered gorgeous views and very easy well trained horses. Kelsey (also known as "Wonder Beard") was our guide on this class II and class III adventure just north of Yellowstone. His knowledge of rafting, safety and the river were excellent -- he showed us a great time! He was also there during the record flooding that closed Yellowstone and destroyed houses in the area a few weeks earlier. Luckily the town of Gardiner MT is in solid shape, and rafting is open and running. Please support the local Gardiner area, which also has great food (the "Wonderland Cafe and Lodge" was the best food of our whole MT trip!), lodging, the Roosevelt Arch (albeit Yellowstone's north entrance still closed atm), and lots of rafting. At the end of June, which is normally peak season (but was interrupted by the earlier flooding), this treasure of a town has availability of lodging, short wait times for restaurants, and open slots for rafting. We were easily able to travel to Gardiner via roads from Livingston MT.See more..

Some of the reviews of Jake's had me a little nervous, but I am so glad we booked! Jake was a very down to business kind of person to book the trip, but other than that I found all the folks I talked to to be very personable. Our guide was great with my 8 year old daughter - checking on her throughout the ride to make sure she was ok, her saddle was properly positioned, etc. The horses have done this a million times so they know the way and other than an occasional reminder that it's not snack time yet need very little guidance. Our family of 5 from Washington state chose a half day white water rafting trip yesterday, as opposed to going to Silverwood, on our way to take our oldest to college in Bozeman. We are so glad we did this instead! So impressed with our experience with Adventure Missoula. Communication from beginning to end is excellent! Once we arrived, we were greeted right away by the friendliest staff and Murphy (the best dog in the world!) Alexis was SO good at leading the safety talk, making it funny and informative all at the same time. Lukas was our guide and we would ask for him over and over again! He was amazing with our two teens AND our 6 year old! So funny and cool without even trying, and patient with all the questions from our little guy. Three of us did a 3 hour ride out of West Glacier Corral which was fun but the trail was mostly in the woods. Two days later we did a 4 hour (half day) "Piegan Valley" ride out of the Many Glacier Corral. We had gorgeous views of Lake Josephine and the surrounding mountains. This was the most scenic and beautiful trail ride I have ever been on! It was absolutely gorgeous. We lucked out on the weather as it was a beautiful blue sky day with a light breeze. I highly recommend the Piegan Valley ride and I would do it again if I ever return as well as trying to the other rides. This ride did stop and take a break around half way point where we stopped and got off the horses and took pictures, had water and snacks that we brought along. There is a restroom (outhouse) at the stop also. Our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and Swan Mountain seems to take good care of the horses.See more..

We had an amazing time on our all day ride in Yellowstone with Heidi. This company thought of all the details, choosing the best trail for me and my two kids (11 and 12) to have the best experience. It was so personalized and we felt like Heidi’s special guests, not just customers. The lunch she made for us was huge and there we’re lots of choices for drinks to stay hydrated. She even brought along slickers due to the chance of rain. This was by far the best thing we did on our vacation and we’ll remember it for the rest of our lives. My family (5 adults and 8 kids ages 6 to 13) took the one hour ride. Gage and Chantelle were wonderful guides. They interacted well with all of the riders and kept a close watch on the young riders. They were terrific! However,, the highlight of the day was the rodeo that evening. I did not know what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best things we did on our vacation. Many of the bull riders and bucking bronco riders were young. At least two of the riders were riding for the first time! You had no idea what to expect when the bulls/horses came out of the shoots. One guy was literally thrown over the fence! We cheered for our guide, Gage, and he ended up winning the bucking bronco event! The rodeo clowns were a lot of fun and they got the crowd, especially the kids involved. My family will always remember their rodeo experience, and we hope we can do it again in the future.See more..

Just went on Just to Taste 1+ hour ride. Both my husband and I hadn’t been on a horse in 15 years. Horses were gentle, owners were super nice, and their daughter McKinnin was a great guide. YHM was amazing! They set us up with a great campsite on fairly short notice, and really knocked it out of the park (pun intended!) The horses and mules were sweet, tolerant of people that don't ride every day, and like attention. Our tent had great views, comfy mattress pads, and warm sleeping bags. Mo, Chase and Lars are so welcoming that it didn't even feel like we were strangers. The food was amazing (pulled pork! Steaks! Apple crisp! HUCKLEBERRY pancakes!!!!) We rode every day, did some fly fishing, picked the above mentioned huckleberries, and got to truly relax in a beautiful place. Mostly, we just had fun! Logistically, YHM is on top of it- responses to every email or call (it may take a day or two if they're out of service, but you WILL get an answer), Lars was early to our meeting place, and every detail other than our personal clothing and fishing license was taken care of. Took my husband and our three kids, ages 11, 13, and 15 on a trail ride with Tracey, and we had a wonderful time. She took the time to explain everything about getting on and off of the horse, and was patient, caring, and clear about all of her instructions. She clearly knows her stuff. The ride itself was beautiful, through what felt like miles of forest and meadows. Her animals are well taken care of, and the horses don't just plod along nose to tail like you get in some places--riders get a chance to actually guide the animals along the trails.
