    Ryan Island is a pretty little scenic spot to visit during the day. You walk across a bridge out to the island and there’s some walking paths and picnic areas.     three hour driving tour with some walks on trails. Dam views amazing and you can drive over. Perimeter road is amazing - views around each corner. We scouted RV sites - there are many, secluded with stunning overlooks over the lake. Lots of wildlife. This is National Forest Service land - the staff were just really welcoming!     This dam is not really on any tourist map of the area. But we decided to detour for 6 miles off the 93 road and didn’t regret it. The view of the dam and the river are magnificent. Don’t be lazy and go down the easy 350 (or so) steps for even better views. See more..

    We wanted to see the Yellowtail Dam. First we saw some beautiful sceneries, near the Yellowtail Dam. Red mountains. Wow! We also saw the river passing us by. We went to the Yellowtail Dam and we saw people putting boats on the river. It was happy that we could go close to the Yellowtail Dam. Worthwhile to see! See more..
