The retailers welcomed patrons. Friendly knowledgeable staff everywhere. Including the small donation only museum at the Amtrak station sand the delightful broadway series production at the local school on Spokane Ave. We arrive via Amtrak without a car rental due to exorbitant prices for this summer crowds. We did maje use of three local transportation services, S.N.O.W bus free from town to Whitefish Ski resort, Mountain Shuttle service pricey with reservations required and Flathead Valley Transportation also requires advance ticket purchase but low cost. Walkway near town to whitefish lake and second avenue takes you through darling homes to a tiny private airport, dog park and community pool. Loved this walkable town with great restaurants! We saw whow thwy dressed, their beds, their music and way more. He lived here from 1850 to 1887. What I liked the most is to see how people lived here. That was cool. A must see! See more..
