  2. 5.0 Glacier National Park (574 reviews)
    - Beautiful Park
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
    Glacier National Park image
Everyone needs to see this National park. Even after all the glaciers melt within the next 30 years, there is still so much beauty. The glaciers are only the tip of the iceberg (no pun intended). You will see sweeping views 360 degrees all around you everywhere you go. It’s hard to take a bad picture here! I would recommend staying in the park if you can, but make sure to get reservations way in advance (at least a year) as places fill up fast. There aren’t too many roads here so it’s relatively easy to see all the top spots in the park in one trip. See more..

Red Rock Falls, Glacier National Park image
We took this hike later in the day and were so glad we did it. The path leads you past Fishercap Lake where we saw a moose dining on the plants in the water. Then we made it all the way to the falls. Wow...they were really nice to see and so many people were enjoying them. Many areas to get to that allow for unique photos of the falls. Just be careful that you don't trip or twist an ankle! See more..

    - Always some adventure to be had

    Kootenai National Forest image
Hike on Mt. Marston Kootenai National Forest offers many activities, they include hiking, camping, boating and swimming just to name few. There are also developed campgrounds, though they may not be functional till Memorial Day. It is important to come self sufficient. This trip was for a hike on Mt. Marston. Coming from Kalispell this trail head is about an hour northwest on US 93. We only did an out and back totaling five miles (8 km). Even with this shortened version the elevation gain was still nearly 1200 feet (365 m) . There are some challenging inclines so be prepared. The views once above the tree tops are breathtaking. Murphy, Dickey and Bull Lakes are easily spotted. The hike to the observation tower is about 12 miles (19 km) out and back. It is important to be Bear Aware and if you bring it in bring it out. Remember when hiking descending yields to ascending. See more..

Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest image
I love Montana. These forest lands need to cared for so that the next generations can enjoy what we've taken for granted since ...forever. We were driving past the Showdown Ski Resort near White Sulfur Springs on Saturday, May 18, 2019 and of course.... SNOWSTORM!!! It was a really beautiful drive. See more..
  9. 5.0 Lolo Natioal Forest (3 reviews)
    - An amazing play ground
National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
    Lolo Natioal Forest image
The Lolo National Forrest is expansive and this was my first trip to the western region. This was actually closer to Frenchtown and Husan then to Seeley Lake. We intended to hike Crystal Peak but access to the trailhead was dicey, we hiked any way on service roads. Even in the winter there is plenty to do. Winter hiking is a favorite as well as cross country skiing and snow shoeing. As with any back country activity it is imperative to be prepared for any situation, including having supplies and unexpected aggressive encounters. As always respect the back country. See more..
