    - Beautiful...worth the drive

From Bozeman, Waze says it will take nearly an hour to drive to the falls which is only about 20 miles away. The road winds beautifully through the Gallatin National Forest. The scenery is stunning. Once you arrive at the paved lot....you follow a very easy paved path. It is a moderate uphill walk (about .70 miles) to the falls. Absolutely beautiful. We passed couples of all ages, parents with toddlers in strollers, and lots of dog walkers. A great little hike. See more..

This hike was incredibly beautiful. We went very early on a recent weekday, and it was not crowded at all. The trail was clearly marked, and we had no difficulty with it. We then went on to Virginia Falls, which was even more spectacular. Other than Trail of the Cedars, this hike was my favorite in the park. Highly recommended! See more..
  3. 5.0 Virginia Falls (274 reviews)
    - Great Trail to Beautiful Waterfall

I hiked the trail to Virginia Falls. Originally this was not my first choice hike, but full parking lots at Avalanche Lake and Logan Pass forced me all the way to Sun Point to find a spot. I took off down the trail from Sun Point which has great views of St. Mary Lake. I passed two other waterfalls on the way as well. Virginia Falls is only an extra mile round-trip from St. Mary’s Falls and is worth the extra distance. The waterfall was gorgeous! Make sure to hike all the way to the top to see the upper parts of the cascade. I found a nice place near the lower cascade to have lunch and read a book before hiking back. I’m glad I had a chance to do this hike! The trails are very good and not very strenuous. The views are spectacular and change dramatically with every turn of the trail. See more..

Ryan Dam - Great Falls of the Missouri image
Ryan Island is a pretty little scenic spot to visit during the day. You walk across a bridge out to the island and there’s some walking paths and picnic areas. You can see the dam well from there. The island is only open during the summer and they do close the island during the night. See more..
  5. 4.5 Running Eagle Falls (252 reviews)
    - A favorite stop in GNP
    Waterfalls
    Running Eagle Falls image
Running Eagle Falls is a highlight of a trip to Two Medicine. In the spring water rushes over the upper fall so thick that the lower fall is completely hidden. Later in summer, as flows decrease, the water seems to change course and flow almost exclusively out of the lower fall. It's easy to see why this waterfall used to be named Trick Falls. This area holds great religious significance for local Blackfeet tribal members. The park is in the process of creating a nature trail here to highlight the cultural significance of this unique spot. 7. 4.5 Aster Falls (83 reviews)
    - Great hike..go to top for superb view of Two Medicine Lake

This is a great family hike, with meadows and ponds (might see a Moose with calves if you are lucky), streams and waterfalls, and at the peak a great view of Two Med Lake. The whole hike, with time for lunch and playing around the waterfalls, was about 2-2.5 hours. The switchback to the top has a moderate elevation change (about 700' over the last 20 minutes), otherwise its an easy hike. Take time to play around the waterfalls and look for wildlife in the meadows. See more..
  8. 4.5 Apikuni Falls (47 reviews)
    - Great short hike

Great family friendly hike. Did this on the way home to stretch the legs. Small parking area at the trail head. They look like they're paving the road so only parts of it are gravel. Short, steep, easy to follow, no technical terrain packed down dirt trail. There are a few lookouts definitely worth stopping at. When you get to the end go up to the falls for a nice lookout back down. See more..
  9. 5.0 The Crooked Falls (2 reviews)
    - Visiting the Crooked Falls
    Spent 2-3 hours Waterfalls
    The Crooked Falls image
Several people told us to follow the South Shore Trail Trail head, it will lead to the Crooked Falls. We listened to them and we went. It took is a long time to get there. We were glad that they were local. Once we were on the Giant Springs Road, we could not miss the Crooked Falls. They had waterfalls as well and it was attractive. They were not huge, but really a huge large shower. We had made it and now you can do it too. A must see! See more..

This is a huge, powerful waterfall literally right beside the road. You can get plenty of photos from the road or scramble down just a tad to get even closer. See more..
