Great adventure in Montana

My husband and I booked the one hour horseback ride followed by an 8 mile river raft tour down the Yellowstone river. Both were Fantastic! The horseback ride offered gorgeous views and very easy well trained horses. We had Leen for the rafting guide, she was very fun and knowledgeable about the area, again stunning views of this gorgeous area, I would highly recommend both adventures.

Fantastic day of Paddle then Saddle with Cowboy Cookout!
We had the best day as my wife and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary with Flying Pig! We did the 8 mile float which was about 2 hours in mid July. The water was great. Several big splashes and the rapids were relatively mild which made the float safe yet exciting and gave us plenty of opportunity to enjoy the amazing scenery! Our guide Bobby was fun and knowledgeable about area. We had some time after the float to explore Gardiner before doing the 1 hour horseback ride with the Cowboy cookout. We booked the Saddle and Paddle Separately instead of booking the package from flying pig because we wanted to float the river and then do the dinner. The drive up to the ranch was a little longer than we thought it would be, but we loved it because it was beautiful. Be sure to check in at Gardiner an hour before your ride time. As an inexperienced rider, 1 hour was plenty. Riding was a great experience. It was slightly challenging but easy to catch on. The horses were well mannered and I rode Brownie while my wife rode Popeye. The views and pace were perfect. The crew that rode along with us did a great job of watching over our group and giving pointers and help when needed. I think there were about 25 riders altogether in our group. A few of the crew members (cowboys) ate dinner with us and spoke about their experiences which were inspiring, interesting, and educational. We loved talking with Wayne and a few of the other guys. Very nice, friendly young men. We had an amazing day with the Flying Pig and you should too!

    Go rafting!!!
Our family of 4 (two adults, 2 kids (11 and 13), took the 8 mile, 2 hour trip from Gardiner. It was the perfect way to end our Yellowstone visit before heading back to Washington State. From the moment we arrived at the property, the staff was positive and accommodating. It felt kind of like a summer camp energy of fun. Our guide, Rosco, was great. He taught us what to do in the boat, pointed out interesting animals and landscapes and was strong enough to pull us all back into the raft after we jumped out for a dip in the river. They also offered storage of valuables and places to change into dry clothes after our river adventure.
