Came upon this park while staying in North East. What a pleasant little quaint park to enjoy for the afternoon. Very much enjoyed relaxing, fishing off the free fishing dock and eating at the wonderful restaurant next to the park, which overlooks the park and marina. Extra special was the Upper Bay Museum in the park, a free museum which was informative and fun. Enjoy! See more..

  6. 5.0 Sunflowers in Jarrettsville (4 reviews)

    Sunflowers in Jarrettsville image
It was so good to see the sunflowers return. Earlier in the summer I was doubting that a crop would be planted for 2021. Although a little late in the season compared to previous years. The sunflowers are now blooming, the trains/paths are well maintained and the concession stands are up and running. It seems that the diameter of the flowers is a little smaller than in the past, but this may be due to growing factors. Regardless, their bright yellow faces are a welcome. See more..
  7. 2.5 Davidsonville Park (3 reviews)
    - Sunday walk at the park
Spent 2-3 hours Arenas & Stadiums • Scenic Walking Areas
Did a family trip to Davidsonville Park. Very nice, level walking path, perfect for kids learning to ride a bike. The playground was small and had three problems. First, there was some very inappropriate graffiti on the playground equipment. Second, there was a lot of standing water in the playground. Third, there was trash spread across the playground area. Although it was the weekend, the county should invest to keep this park clean. See more..
  8. 5.0 Shafer Park (3 reviews)
    - Great Local Park
Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Shafer Park image
This was our first time here (for a youth lacrosse game), and we were impressed -- with everything except the bathrooms not being open. Lots of space. Several fields. Basketball courts. Multiple pavillions. A bandstand. And great kiddie park with playground equipment. It's also near the Police and Fire Stations, and is monitored via surveillance camera. So - safe. The mom & tot swing was very unique. The sphere climbing mound was cool, and there's enough space for everyone. Parking: Free lots Bathrooms: Several, but all were closed saying they'd open in the Spring (and this was a week into official spring)... plus there's nowhere else local to go. See more..
