We totally enjoyed our golf experience despite an encounter with a nasty fellow golf. My husband Teed off with a group of four, but was instantly pressurized by one of the golfer. We felt very uncomfortable and suggested that they play ahead and we'd rather follow behind, but the golfer was threatening to have us throw off the golf course. I called the office right away and requested that we played with the group behind us, or by ourselves. A staff member immediately came by and confirmed that we should not be pressured by anybody and that that we could just play by ourselves. The rest of the day was just wonderful and we were able to enjoy the beauty of the golf course and finish in due time. Played Seaside 4/27/21. Course was well manicured and the greens were about 2 weeks post aerification. Seaside is the oldest course of the Eastern Shore (built 1959) and is a traditional (some think boring) style course. I would recommend Seaside if you are looking to play a traditional style course and Newport Bay if you are looking for more resort style course. We where a group of 11 and played on a not so nice day. We were only able to play 9 holes, but the pro was very accommodating and let us come back the next day and replay 18 for no additional cost. The course layout is outstanding and the views are awesome. A must play if in the area.See more..

We played this course last week in the early spring months, so its not too fair to evaluate completely, but I will say this much. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They were fantastic and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. The food was way above par and they had an excellent bar area. The chipping and putting greens were perfect. The driving range had plenty of flags to go for. The course itself was very challenging. Lots of blind tee shots, very undulating greens, two very tough, picturesque finishing holes and a really cool island green on the back 9. I would love to play this in its true glory, but it may just eat me alive! Definitely, recommend this course...even in the spring!See more..

After reading a couple of reviews, I was tentative to play here for the first time. The complaints I read were warranted, but not at all enough to affect play. The course is beautifully laid out and is very fair. The few draw backs were some of the fairways were mud caked in spots because of recent rains and aerating, but there were plenty of spots to take a drop. The greens were large, in good shape and putted well. I highly recommend keeping it in the fairways and out of the rough. As for bugs, I didn’t have any problems, but everyone is affected differently, so bring repellent if you needed it. The pro, Jeff Bell and his staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was very good despite there being only a single server to take orders, serve food and take care of all the golfers coming in for post-round drinks and food. My only criticism would be that it might have been nice to have rolls or bread served with the dinner. We did not ask but nor was any offered. Nice large flat tee boxes, four tees to choose from. They brought the cart over even before I paid and load up my bag. Enjoyed myself and didn't have to use too many mulligans. Well this is one of my favorite places to play golf. Course has got a pretty nice design considering it is placed in a golf neighborhood around $500K - $900K houses. Priced a little on the high side, but, its in a gated community so not shocking. Course upkeep is fair. could be better. It has several needs, a counsistant Marshall and starter to would go along way to help some times slow pace of play. Little more hole and tee variation on a more consistant basis would also be a nice change. Attention to course and green repair would also be helpful. The Grove is one of my favorite places to eat but, it needs more consistant management to for the dining room, menu and bar area and better management of rental events and special night events. I went to this course to play and ended up joining a group of seniors in a best buy format. I have returned several times again and have met some wonderful people. The course is in great shape, its not too difficult to play, but its challenging because of the cross winds in the area. I now consider this my home course. See more..

It looks like the owners must not have been around this course in a few years. The bunkers have lost all their sand. There are not even any rakes. The greens are well mowed, but pretty brown. The tee boxes are absolutely terrible. Mostly sand. No grass. The workers were all really friendly, but even the fairways were hard. If you drive your ball off the fairway, the grass is so long, your ball is gone! Go for the beer and your friends.See more..
