  2. 4.0 Bayfront Club (1 review)
    - Nice spot for a wedding

    Bayfront Club image
The Bayfront Club, about a 30 min. drive from downtown Baltimore, looks out on Old Road Bay with the Patapsco River beyond. Cruise ships leaving port in Baltimore pass by in the distance. Trees mostly block views of the cement manufacturer to the west; views to the east are of pleasant bayside homes. We were here for a wedding. The club, in the middle of a residential area, is a bit hard to find -- even for our GPS, which had fits because we told it the address was in Edgemere when it thinks of the area as Sparrows Point. The club is much nicer than the houses around it, trust me. Once you're inside, it's like being in another world. The wedding was outside, overlooking the bay. The weather was nice, but very windy (and completely out of Bayfront Club's control, of course!) After-the-ceremony pictures were taken on and around the club's dock. There's also a very large outdoor deck facing the bay. Inside, there's a large reception space with plenty of room for bar, DJ, dancing, tables, etc. The bathrooms were a bit cramped, but clean. The food was very good. The woman overseeing things for Bayfront Club was very attentive, and the bride and groom seemed quite pleased. One downside: there really isn't anywhere nearby for guests to stay overnight, the best option being downtown Baltimore (guests at this wedding stayed at Hotel Red Lion; see my review "Scandinavia in downtown Baltimore?"). This raises the problem of drinking and driving, solved, in this case, by restraint, the cost of a driving service for that distance being prohibitive. No photos because I don't want to invade the privacy of the wedding couple, but I'm eager to see the wedding photographer's work, which should be quite picturesque. See more..
