We visited the zoo for our first time on a sunny Sunday afternoon 2 or 3 weekends ago. We have a beach house in OC and had never visited this zoo before and kicked ourselves now for now doing so sooner! While it was a cold and breezy day, it was sunny and lots of people were out. Most of the animals were too (some Alpaca's even had coats on!). We got to see the Wallaby's, Jaguar, Burrowing Owls, Flamingos, Wild Turkeys, etc. The park is free and they do have donation boxes at the entrances/exits and we were glad to "chip in"! Lots of free parking at either ends of the zoo. See more..

  4. 5.0 Catoctin Creek Park & Nature Center (7 reviews)
    - Great Family Fun in the Great Outdoors
    Zoos • Parks
Took the kids to and they had a blast. The nature center houses some live animals and educational toys and displays. After checking out the center, we walked the trails, explored a bit, then waded and swam in the creek. The kids were thrilled by the toads, tadpoles, turtles, crawfish... mud. Nature. Woohooo! There is also a playground - the (free) fun never ends! Could easily spend the whole day here if you're looking for some "unplugged" nature-y fun. Picnic tables, water fountains, and bathrooms available. A hidden gem and totally worth the trip! We will be back! See more..

My Girl Scout troop had a wonderful time visiting Breezy Hill Farm. Heather was patient, kind, and informative. The animals were so friendly and fun to be around. And seeing how the wool is used was really neat, even for a bunch of hyper 6 year-olds. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to come back! See more..
