My favorite part was the generous serving of beer for the guided tasting. Our tour guide Alex was extremely knowledgeable and super funny. He answered the group's questions well, even saying "I don't know" when he was not sure of an answer. And above all, the freshness of the flavors were amazing. The only minus is quite understandable, and that is that it got noisy because of the crowds at that hour, which was 6:00 p.m., making the provided headphones a total necessity. But because the walls and floors are exposed concrete, all the noise of the surrounding conversations get very loud. The place is beautifully appointed both inside and outside, meticulously clean and neat. I will go again, and many times God willing!See more..
Knowledgeable barkeep, Sewell, was very welcoming and served everyone with a smile. Fun place. Seating indoors or out. Pet friendly and fabulous beer! The summer crush beer is exceptional and unique. Must try it! Be forewarned that it is 10.7%. Wish they shipped it to NC! It is now available year-round. The St Michaels ale (amber) was excellent too.See more..

4.5Flying Dog Brewery(125 reviews) - Nice place to taste Temporarily closed - Closed until further notice Spent 2-3 hours Breweries
Thank you so much for your interest in the Flying Dog Tasting Room. Like many other companies, we are limiting physical access to the building to our essential employees during the pandemic. All of our programs, including the tasting room, and events are on indefinite hold at this time. Our brewery continues to produce world class beer that you can purchase at your favorite retailer.See more..
Independent Brewing appears to have at least double the types of beers and ales as other breweries in the area. It's fun to study the listing onthe wall. There were two IPAs that the bartender himself likes now, so I chose the Hundo which was the stronger if the two. It had just the right body and bitterness I was looking for. Fortunately there were a few 4-packs left in the fridge, so I was also able to take some home for later. There are several different inside and outside seating areas as well as a big tent. Since the weather was manageable, I took my drink out to the tables next to the food truck. The regular appearance of different vendors/trucks makes the experience more enjoyable. Overall a great lunch break.See more..
4.5Heavy Seas Brewery(86 reviews) - Fun! Sunday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Breweries
This was a really exciting place to visit, had a great time learned some really interesting things about the various components of beer making. But what really made it special was our bartender his name was Danny, he really made it special and it wouldn’t have been the same if he specifically was not our bartender, really had a passion for what he was talking about and knew some really insightful knowledge. Thanks to him!See more..

4.0Black Flag Brewing Co(24 reviews) - Stopped by for a brew Sunday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
Stopped in on a rainy week day afternoon. Hadn’t been before, wanted to really like this place as I’ve found their beer in local stores and restaurants but wasn’t blown away overall. The beer was average, decor def seemed like an odd combo but they did have the whole social distancing thing under control and asked customers to wait at the door to be seated. Bartender wore a face mask the entire time. I’ll give BF Brewing a second try later. See more..

Falling Branch is a farmhouse brewery in Street, MD on a working fourth-generation family farm. We strive to create great beer & an unforgettable atmosphere. A refurbished 1800s timber frame barn serves as our Taproom, and the outdoor Beer Garden below it has picturesque views of the surrounding 100-acre farmland. The beer is carefully crafted onsite with a focus on American IPAs, Belgian ales, and various sours. Our history is deep-rooted in agriculture on this land - it has been an instrumental part of our family dating back to our great-grandfather in 1924. Falling Branch Brewery was sparked by a strong desire to continue our agricultural heritage and a passion for good beer. Our family has been hard at work over the years to make the farm atmosphere, and the beer, something we're very proud to share with you today.See more..
Established 2017. Well-crafted beer in Columbia, Maryland, Hysteria is dedicated to the mad pursuit of beer that's not afraid to be beer. Our taproom, like our beers, draws on innovation, intrigue, collaboration, and community. Playing off of café culture and the English-style pub, our taproom offers a welcoming, friendly, and engaging taproom experience. We aim to collaborate with our friends and neighbors across Maryland and create truly unique beers distinct to the state we call home.See more..
Located all the way at the back of the development, Cushwa Brewing offers a wide selection of beers on tap from between $5-7 for a pint as well as cans to take take home. There is ample seating inside but also outdoor picnic tables. One can order a pizza from Rad Pies which is in the same space. We had the In Crust We Trust deep dish which had a nice crunchy crust but I felt $21 plus 20% tip was a lot of dough for, well, a lot of dough that was partitioned into 4 rectangles. 1 pie may not feed 2 people. We would try some of their other pies at some point. Overall, Markus and Emily behind the bar were very helpful and we would return.See more..

This was totally worth the drive. We are about 2.5 hours away. This place has lots of history, great, friendly service, great indoor and outdoor space and great beer. On Friday afternoon they had a food truck and live music as well. Loved the Stout but the Vienna Lager and others were also really good. We spent several hours there, reading the history, looking at the artifact wall and talking to the staff to learn more about it.See more..

A beautiful location with friendly staff. I was not the biggest fan of the beers I got in my flight, but they also have many options and I’m hopeful the 5 I got were just an off choice. The food menu is very limited and is your basic brewery food- but the vibe is welcoming and positive. I would definitely be willing to try this place again if I’m in the area.See more..

4.5AleCraft Brewery(7 reviews) - Lockdown with Ales Sunday: 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Breweries
This is all about the beer/ales, not food trucks or food delivery. Alecraft's ales are great with good hops. The 16 ounce 4 packs are very convenient with nice artwork. The huge cans are good if one has company, which doesn't happen now, so a smaller can is perfect with lunch. See more..

5.01623 Brewing Company(5 reviews) - Enjoyment on tap Sunday: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM Breweries
1623 Brewing is located in the back of the Liberty Exchange complex, but it is well worth the effort to search it out. The space is large, airy, and comfortable with a variety of seats from bar stools to comfy living room type chairs. There is an outdoor patio in the back. Staff were friendly and quite helpful in explaining what was currently on tap. I had read about the currently featured Cypress Reserve Irish Ale on their website and found it to be light and pleasant in a special glass. I tried a sample of the Dog Dayz hazy IPA and loved the citrus notes. The sample of peanut butter honey milk stout reminded me of a Reeses cup. I got packs of the Dog Dayz and Cypress to take home. 1623 was well worth the search and visit.See more..

Davie is one of the founders and brews incredible beers. They are the first micro brewery in Charles County. Their beer sells out every weekend. They just opened this summer after years of red tape with the county. Davie teases that he spent countless nights on the courthouse steps getting approvals. They have great personalities and are super friendly. We were impressed with their quality in their beers. Definitely a place to visit. Bring your own growler or buy one there and bring their beer home. You can only get their beer at the brewery or at special events. See more..

4.0Homaide Brewing Co.(1 review) - Solid local brewery Breweries Stopped in on New Years Eve day.... they were open until 1 am. This place is small, and may be in the old Cushwa Brwery site (Cushwa is two buildings back closer to I-81). Ambiance was the local beer seen. The Beers were VERY unique - banana bread, etc.... I sampled - Bunches Cream Ale (very unique with honey undertones); Abby Something (my least fav of my quad pack); Banana Stand (which was unique and I actually wish had more banana flavor); and French Toast (roasted & delicious). Ordered a few to go including a Nightman imperial stout, fight milk stout and Cousin Eddie lager and the Bunches Cream Ale. Would recommend: Yes Would re-patronize: Possibly Ask for Irbe (sp).See more..
1.0Orchid Cellar Meadery & Winery(1 review) - No Wine Breweries Looked over their website and reviewed all the information to visit then arrived to find out its really just meads. 4.0Reckless Shepherd Brewing Co.(1 review) - Nice Addition To The Area Sunday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Breweries Located in a small strip center next to Wegman's, Reckless Shepherd is cavernous, with a bar to the left and a music stage and is very open with a 2nd bar in the back and a large outside seating area. What's a little confusing is there is a door on the side that reads Frisco Taphouse, which looks to be their new location and there is a door next to the bathrooms that will take you to the Frisco Taphouse from Reckless Shepherd. They use the Frisco Taphouse website for their own which is very poor. Everything is ordered at the table thru a code and delivered to the table, but it took a while to get it down and check your bill since one in our party had to get his bill corrected. They had an interesting selection of beers, and I loved their Chocolate Wheat beer that was a true wheat with some obvious chocolate but not overly chocolate like the very good Yuengling Hershey's Chocolate Porter. My wife liked her TNT lager but didn't love it. On the food front it was pretty basic with the chicken tenders good and not overly battered or fried. The French fries were very good, and the pizza had way too much cheese, something that can be corrected. The crust was not burnt but tasted burnt which seemed unusual. All in all, we liked the atmosphere, and it must have been a good night since we stayed nearly 4 hours and the musician on stage was pretty good particularly with his 3 song Beatle medley. We all agreed we would definitely return.See more..

Brewery and Taproom/ Dog Friendly / Family Friendly / Food Trucks / Beer, Wine, Spirits. At Chesepiooc Real Ale Brewery, we push past traditional brewing by embracing creativity and experimentation. While we love to brew traditional cask-conditioned real ales and draft beers; we also love to brew just “to see what may happen.” Our 16 taps and 8 beer engines are filled with the results of this philosophy. On any given day you may find our very traditional ESB, English Nut Brown, or West Coast Style IPA on tap next to a Honey-Basil Hefeweizen or a Mango-Habanero NEIPA. And, lots of barrel aged beers. We like to challenge ourselves to keep things fresh and interesting – which is why we eschew “flagship” beers in favor of small batches of ever-changing brews. Our approach to recipe development knows no bounds. Sometimes we like to brew very traditional styles and stay as true as possible to those traditions. Other times, we start with nothing more than an idea or flavor profile and a desire to brew something interesting. To enable this philosophy and to enhance our creativity; we built a small, custom brewery that allows us to make our ever-changing variety of small-batch beers. Our tiny brewery is a labor of love – we brew constantly to make sure we always have something new and interesting for you to drink.See more..
