Very peaceful winery well organized for tasting their wide range of white, red and fruity wines. I really liked 2/3 of the probably a dozen tastes of their "full" tasting range ($12), which is more than I do in most wineries I have visited, especially on the East coast of the US. COVID protocols taken very seriously (much appreciated!). Their chardonnays and sweet Traminette were standouts for me (I generally prefer white wines), and I plan to be back next weekend to sample their mulled wine. Would be a great place to hang out in warmer weather, and is only minutes away from Cedarville State Forest and campground. I happily procured a nice range of wines to serve at Christmas following my tasting! See more..
  4. 5.0 Janemark Winery And Vineyard (6 reviews)
    - Delicious wine and great owners

I had a delightful time at Janemark where I was served by one of the owners, who grew up about a mile from the vineyard. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wine, most of which are made from estate grapes or grapes from elsewhere in Maryland, though not all of the wines are, so ask if that is important to you. I ended up buying a few bottles. The tasting room is in an old tobacco barn and the vineyard is in former tobacco fields. Visiting the vineyard was part of a great day, which included a hike at Cedarville State Park (Blue Trail) and a visit at Dr. Mudd’s home museum. Oh, also, if you head further south, Bruster’s ice cream in Waldorf is delicious! See more..
