Captain Dad (our nickname for him) & his son provided my friend and I with a fun filled outing on their fishing boat. My friend and I caught 2 Rockfish (aka stripped bass) each as did the other 5 participants. His son skillfully filleted our catch and suggested a nearby restaurant that would cook it for us. Capt Scott was well organized from the start. He sent a detailed email preparing for the trip to include Dramamine the the before and the day of! We started out fishing for our own bait which lead to fishing for 12 beautiful Rockfish! I think we caught our limit in 45 minutes! It was a fishing frenzie once we found the sweet spot in the bay. His first mate Mime was awesome! Filleted our catch prior to departure! A trip I will never forget. Celebrated my son’s birthday with catching the biggest fish ever-28 inch Rockfish.See more..
Me and my business partners were in the area from Colorado. We had never been fishing on open water fishing before this. We were catching fish every minute it seemed! Not only did we catch our limit but the crew also cooked and catered our meal for us. Great atmosphere and great captain. The boat was comfortable and the views were amazing. Couldn't ask for a better experience, we will definitely be calling Chesapeake Bay Charter Services when we are back in the area. Natural Light Fishing Charters made our best friend’s bachelor party a complete success. I truly cannot recommend them enough. Captain Frank (and First Mate Frank) were fantastic hosts and really made sure we had the best time imaginable. They’re masters of their craft who really know their area well, so much so that every member of our party caught multiple fish. Great time today, my family had a great fishing trip. Capt Phil took us out to Hoopers Island lighthouse and went back to the Honga River where we did some bottom fishing with crab bait. Caught our limit of nice stripe bass and one 25lb Black Drum. Phil show us plenty of wildlife on the bay which included Pelicans and assortment of other bids, as well as the lighthouse. Whole experience of this trip made us realise why beautiful this area of the Chesapeake Bay is.See more..

We're about to head out with Cpt. Stu and his mate, Joe, for our 4th year in the Spring Trophy Season. We've fished with other captains and the experience has been nowhere near what you get on the Hook Mash. Even last year, when we saw boats coming in without making their minimum because of the slot limit, we were beat from an afternoon of reeling in multiple stripers and everyone took home their monster fillet, well over the 42" size minimum. The thrill of landing a 47" fish can't be beat -- until it lands on my grill. Cold weather had the fish in a funk. Instead of meeting at 6 AM, Karl suggested we wait until 10 to head out as the bite got better later in the day. We tried one area that showed fish but could only get one to eat. We moved looking for birds working. We ended up catching 50-60 fish with many unders. Captain Eric Bengston and mate John kept us on fish all day. Great guys who treated us right. Totally recommend these guys!See more..

Miss Chesapeake does charters out of the Middle River area, especially for fishing, but this past Saturday they offered a special "cruise" as part of the Middle River Lighted Boat Parade. The boat comfortably held around 20 guests. We set out at dark and joined 30 some local boats with all kinds of lights and seasonal decorations. While many people filled the docks around the river and inlets to view the parade, we had a great experience from the center of the action. One could stand on deck or sit in comfortable lawn chairs. Inside the cabin there were cider and cookies. Although it was cold as expected, the cheerfulness of the parade, the season and fellow passengers meant the cold could be overlooked. The crew were friendly and welcoming, too. Prices were reasonable. One suggestion would be a more detailed review of safety issues and procedures. Overall it was a fun evening well spent.See more..

We met them at the boat at 6:15 am. Jesse and his 12 yr old son Patrick were our captain and mate on the trip. Started out bait fishing, which is fun all by itself! Then headed out for Rock fish. Took a little bit for him to find the fish, but then, HOLY COW!!!! Not sure how long it actually was to get our boats limit of fish(maybe 40 minutes) but it was absolutely fast and fun. We were all sweating pretty good when we finished our limit. These two fellas are an absolute treat to fish with! Patrick is the nicest, most sarcastic 12 yr old we have ever met! Quick wit! If you really want a fun adventure that is VERY professional also, this is it!! WOW!See more..
if you're still into adrenaline & excitement!! The views are beautiful- including Captain Murray, Mates John & John Jr. (the cutest of 'em all). We saw a lighthouse & sailboats on the way to "the spot". It was so spectacular that we didn't even realize how cold it was out there. All three of them demonstrated such patients w/ us roaming about as they stayed on top of the tasks at hand required. And it's a good relationship w/ one another that makes that possible. It was such a remarkable trip that we already have plans for next yr when we come back to this area. A rush & a must-even for the "seasoned" fisherman.See more..
These guys are a disgrace to the charter world and fishing enthusiasts alike. They throw the small rockfish overboard like they are flinging bait and a stream of beautiful 16-17 inch fish can be seen floating behind their boat. It takes two seconds to release a fish properly to ensure it lives for another catch. I would choose a different charter boat company that cares about keeping the species thriving as much as they care about making a buck. Would not recommend.See more..
Captain Lamont Wright is a really great Captain to go fishing with. He is personable and works very hard to make sure he gets you on the fish. This was our first time fishing with him and we have never had such a fantastic day of fishing. There were four of us and each of us caught sixty some fish. It seemed like all we had to do was drop the line and in minutes we had one or two fish. Yes, we had double hooks on the line and many times throughout the trip we came up with doubles. His boat has seating on both sides and all the way up to the bow of the boat. In addition, he has seating in the back of the boat. So, no matter what spot on the boat you choose, you can sit down. Captain Lamont's prices are very reasonable and all of us look forward to fishing with him again in the near future. If you want a good day of fishing, call Captain Lamont.
