  1. 4.5 Brookside Gardens (299 reviews)
    - A Saturday Stroll
    Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Gardens
    Brookside Gardens image
The Brookside Garden is a nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon strolling around the many paths. It is peaceful and stroller friendly with plenty of benches to rest or just enjoy the outdoors. There is a section which is more formal garden with small fountains and a rose garden. The rose garden was my personal favorite. Several varieties were in bloom during my visit. They were simply stunning! The garden has a conservatory on site. It was a lot smaller than I had expected and didn’t really have much to see inside. A few tropical plants and a small waterfall. Honestly, I was disappointed and would have skipped it if I had known what it looked like inside. Know before you go.... I would recommend about 2 hours to view the entire garden. Also, the parking lot is not very big and will fill up fast during prime times. The spaces seemed kind of small. Bigger vehicles may have a harder time parking. There is some additional parking by the conservatory. These spaces are bigger so this might be a better option if you have a larger vehicle. Overall, I did enjoy walking through the garden. I felt relaxed and at peace. I would recommend it if you are in the area and have time for a visit. See more..

William Paca House & Garden image
The William Paca Garden is a two acre oasis of natural beauty in the bustling center of Annapolis’ Historic District. Although many colonial Annapolitans had gardens, only Paca’s has been returned to its original splendor and opened to the public. Intrigued by garden details in the background of Charles Willson Peale’s 1772 portrait of Paca, researchers were able to reconstruct the site from a series of archeological digs that turned up evidence of the garden’s former glory. Visit and learn the stories of the people who lived and labored in the home and garden throughout the years. The William Paca House and Garden is open daily for guided tours of the house and self-guided tours of the garden. See more..

  5. 4.5 Lake Kittamaqundi (159 reviews)
    - Love this lake!
Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Gardens
    Lake Kittamaqundi image
We love this lake for dog walks. The walk around the lake is 1.7 miles and mostly flat. There are other paved paths that lead off from the lake so if you are interested in more distance there are lots of options. If you have dogs, there is a supply of bags for pick up and there are plenty of garbage cans along the way for deposit. My lab likes to swim and there are several entry points for him to take a dip. The lake is home to ducks, geese, and beavers. It is also a favorite spot for fireworks on the 4th. The restaurants on the lake are all very good. There is a major hotel on the lake. There is a spa there and also a Whole Foods. Very safe area with easy access to the mall but also very quiet and isolated. Great for walking, jogging, and bike riding. Super easy for kids because the hills are minimal. We go there several time a month. See more..

On display inside the Center are turtles (inside the tanks), stuffed animals that are native to the area, wall exhibits, etc. There is a small meeting room and public toilets inside.
