What a gem we found! Campground was taken very good care of! All the sites were clean and very private! The bath house was one of the nicest I've seen in a state park. We felt very safe as the rangers made their rounds through the day and night! If we are ever back in the area this will be our place!!! See more..

    - Relaxing Camping Trip over Labor Day Weekend!
    Forests
Our family came to Pocomoke River State Forest for the Labor Day Weekend - we camped at Shad Landing in Fox Den and really enjoyed it. Our site (#55) was fully shaded, had a clean fire pit, and good, flat surface for the tent. Each site has a fish prep table and hook (this is a great park for fishing - marina in park) and bathroom centrally located in the middle of the Fox Den loop. Outlets in women’s restroom, clean facilities and 2 showers. Nature Center and Amphitheater in the park and we were lucky enough to enjoy the first show since the COVID shut down. The program, Scales and Tales was excellent (not too “kiddish”, our teenage daughters loved it). Unfortunately the Nature Center and Camp Store are still closed due to COVID. Local Walmart about 10 minutes away is a great place for groceries, ice, etc until Camp Store reopens. This park is a home run for river activities (fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding) but not as great for adventurous hiking. There are plenty of trails, but I would consider them walking trails opposed to hiking trails. See more..
